John Maximovich: “Men will cleverly justify their fall”

The original Greek word in the Epistles of John (viz. 1 John 2:18,22; 4:3; 2 John 7), antichristos, simply means “against Messiah”.

From an examination of the context of these passages we discover that the apostle was warning believers of these ‘false Christs’ who were then present among them, deluding and deceiving many. This warning had earlier been given by Jesus (see Matthew 24:11 and 24). John, in his letters, defines antichrist as any who opposed Jesus of Nazareth, thereby denying that he was the long-awaited Messiah.

Throughout the ages several people, like more recently Mr. Moon, said they were the Christ. Others claimed to be sent by God, but wanted reverence like a god. Several priests and bishops wanted to have Jesus worshipped as their god, or wanted themselves praised as saint, though the Bible clearly tells us there is only One True God, the God of Jesus Christ, Who is the God of Abraham and the God of Israel, Who is Only One eternal Spirit Being Who created heaven and earth. By denying that Godship and by presenting Jesus as god, those theologians are an anti-Christ, because they go in against Jesus as human being and as lamb who offered himself for mankind, giving himself as a ransom to his heavenly Father, whom he considered as his God.

All those lies of the anti-christ created many denominations and brought people further away from Christ Jesus, Jeshua ben Josef, the son of Joseph and Mary of the tribe of king David.

By following the doctrines of churches instead of the doctrines of the Bible, the anti-christ has held a lollipop in front of man’s nose which has made him weary of all sweetness and only too happy to find an excuse to stick to all those human traditions where so much sweetness is available.

The Grace of Humility

It has been almost two weeks since we remembered how a simple man from Nazareth, who had always remained humble, gave himself completely to his heavenly Father in order to be brought to the slaughter like a lamb before God and to die for us.

Never did Jesus claim the credit for the works he could do. He always acted as a servant for Jehovah God, his heavenly Father.

For thus saith the High and Lofty One, who inhabiteth eternity, and whose name is the Holy One:

I dwell in height and holiness, and with the broken and lowly in spirit, to quicken the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the broken. (Isa 57:15)

The grace of humility should be fostered by those who bear the name of Christ; for self-exaltation can find no place in the work of God. Those who would co-operate with the Lord of hosts must daily crucify self, placing worldly ambition second. They must be tolerant and kind, full of mercy and tenderness to those around them…..

True humility is the evidence that we behold God, and that we are united with Jesus Christ. Unless we are meek and humble, we cannot claim to have the true concept of God’s character. Men may think they are serving God faithfully; their talent, wisdom, eloquence, or zeal, may dazzle the eye, flatter the fancy, and excite the admiration of those who cannot see beneath the surface; but unless these qualities are humbly consecrated to God, … they are regarded by God as unprofitable servants (Review and Herald, 11-5-1897).

God has long been waiting for His followers to manifest true humility, that He might impart to them rich blessings. Those who offer Him the sacrifice of a broken and contrite spirit, will be preserved in the cleft of the rock and behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

When Jesus, the sin-bearer, the all-sufficient sacrifice, is more clearly seen, their lips will exclaim the highest praises. The more they see of the character of Christ, the more humble they will become, and the less they will esteem themselves. There will not be seen in their work a foolish presumption….. Self is lost sight of as they realise their own unworthiness (Ibid.). 125

Torah Portion – Pesach B

Christianity really came out the Jewish sect The Way, those people being Jeshuaists or followers of Jeshua gathered in the name of Jeshua to honour the Only One True God and to remember how their master teacher Jeshua gave himself as a ransom for the sins of many.

Messiah Jeshua was a devout Jewish man of flesh and blood who managed to have many followers. Though soon false teachers came unto the platform, entering Roman Greek philosophies, going as far as agreeing with the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great to make Jeshua into Jesus (Hail Zeus) and making a god of him. From then onwards we saw Christendom with the trinitarians but always have been there real followers of Jeshua, not going for that Trinity but keeping worship solely to the Only One True God of Israel, like every Jew should also worship Only One True God above all.

You consider the “resurrection of Messiah” as “an inherently Jewish event” but it was the proof for the whole world that from then onwards a man of flesh and blood could be taken out of the dead. (Those who say Jesus is God, naturally still have no proof that man can come out of death, and often forget that God even can not die, so would have faked His death, fooling also mankind considering His all knowing, because telling people he does not know when he would return.

With his own will putting aside Jeshua did fulfil the Will of God and gave himself to his heavenly Father as an offering, shedding his blood as a lamb, this time not only for liberating or bringing a passover of houses of Jehudi, but for all people, making it possible for Jews and goyim to have a restored relationship with the Most High God.

For sure the Elohim HaShem Jehovah demanded to celebrate the Passover of the with blood sprinkled houses in Egypt, and Jesus also did remember that on the Seder night, demanding also to remember from then onwards how he (Jesus) as presented himself as a Lamb of God and a Lamb for God, to pay for the sins of all people and to inaugurate the New Covenant. Therefore we all come together on 14 Nisan to have a Memorial Meal in remembrance of those two special acts of liberation.

Able to celebrate the Passover in all of its prophetic fulfilment

3300 years after the People of Israel were required to choose an unblemished lamb, kill it, and place its blood over the doorposts and lintels of their dwelling places we may face the time of prophetic fulfilment.

Today we have the opportunity to place the blood of the perfect, chosen Lamb of God, Jeshua, over our hearts and homes, so that by faith, we too will be spared from the Divine judgment due to fall on this world.  This too is a miracle of deliverance.

Exodus 12:13 OJB And the dahm (blood) shall be for you, an ot (sign) upon the batim (houses) where ye are; and when I see the dahm, oofasachti [pasachti] (then I will pass over, skip, spare) you [plural], and the negef (plague, blow, striking, i.e., death of firstborn) shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I strike fatally with a blow against Eretz Mitzrayim.

In Hebrew, the word for I will pass over is pasachti וּפָסַחְתִּי, which comes from the word pesach, which means to hop, to skip over, to spare, and to pass over.

The lamb was to be slaughtered between the evenings (sometimes translated twilight). The other lamb, slaughtered many centuries later was also hung on the tree from the 6th hour to the 9th hour, which is before evening fell.  It is the same time that the Passover lambs were being slain for the Passover Seder. For the lambs in Egypt no bone was to be broken and of the Lamb which was brought to bring ransom for the sins of all, also no bone was broken.

Exodus 12:46 OJB In bais echad shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth any of the basar outside the bais; neither shall ye break a bone thereof [see Yochanan 19:36 OJBC].

John 19:31-36 OJB Therefore, those of Yehudah, vi-bahlt (since) it was Preparation Day [with Chag and Shabbos fast approaching], they did not want the geviyot to be left on HaEtz (Tree) [Ex 12:16; Dt 21:22-23; Josh 8:29; 10:26-27] during Shabbos, for it was Shabbat HaGadol [VAYIKRA 23:11], requested Pilate to have the legs broken and the geviyot taken away. (32) Therefore the chaiyalim (soldiers) came and broke the first man’s legs and then the other one hanging on HaEtz. (33) But having come to Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, when they saw that he was already niftar (deceased), they did not break his legs. (34) But one of the chaiyalim pierced [ZECHARYAH 12:10] his side with a romakh (spear) and immediately out came dahm and mayim. (35) And the ed re’iyah (eyewitness) of this has given solemn edut (testimony). And his edut is ne’emanah (trustworthy). And that one has da’as that he speaks Emes that you might have emunah. (36) For these things happened that the Kitvei Hakodesh [19:24, 28,37] might be fulfilled, V’ETZEM LO TISHBERU VO (And not a bone of him shall be broken). [SHEMOT 12:46; BAMIDBAR 9:12; TEHILLIM 34:20-21]

It was the Preparation Day that Jeshua found his life coming to an end, but having come to Jesus, they saw they did not have to hasten the teacher his death because they saw that he was already death, and therefore the soldiers did not break his legs.

In the ancient writings we are told that we shall have to come together in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, between the evening times to remember the the passover to Jehovah.

Leviticus 23:5-6 OJB In the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is Hashem’s Pesach. (6) And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Chag HaMatzot unto Hashem; shivat yamim ye must eat matzot.

Matthew 27:62 tells us that Jeshua died on the day of preparation for the Passover, which is Nissan 14, just in time for the Passover.

Matthew 27:62-64 OJB Now on the next day [i.e., Motzoei Shabbos], which is the one after the Preparation, the Rashei Hakohanim and the Perushim gathered together with Pilate (63) and said, Sir, we remember that when he was still alive that mateh (deceiver) said, After shloshah yamim I am to stand up alive. (64) Therefore, give orders for the kever to be made secure until the Yom HaShlishi (the Third Day), lest his talmidim come and steal him away and say to the people, He has stood up alive from the mesim. And the last deception will be worse than the first.

Therefore tonight we gather to remember  the Elohim’s passover and tomorrow on the fifteenth day of the first month of our religious year we shall celebrate the feast of unleavened bread unto Jehovah: seven days we shall eat unleavened bread, but we shall be happy and share our happiness with those around us, because we do know that though Jeshua was among the dead, he is now risen and alive, pleading for us, at the right hand of his heavenly Father.

A special weekend for Jews, Messianics, Jeshuaists and Christians

Tonight at sunset, the eight-day celebration of Passover begins.

Jewish people will mark the beginning of this prophetic holiday, which foreshadows the salvation wrought for all mankind
by the Messiah (Jeshua), with a ceremonial meal called the Seder, in which the story of deliverance from slavery in Egypt is retold.
This year this special weekend falls together with the Easter-weekend of several Christians who remember on Good Friday, what we also remember tonight, that Jesus was taken as a prisoner and tortured, afterwards he was brought to the hill outside Jerusalem where he was nailed at the stake to find his death.

True Christians and Jeshuaists or non-trinitarian Messianics shall come together tonight like the 12 men celebrating the Passover Seder in Jerusalem nearly two thousand years ago. They were told by their rabbi and master, Jeshua (Jesus), that this would be their last Seder together.  He also explained its prophetic significance.

Though despite that this would be the last time of Jeshua being with his talmidim, breaking unleavened bread and sharing of the wine, Jeshua did not leave them without hope.
He emphasized the physical coming of the Kingdom of God to the earth and His return:

Luke 22:14-20 OJB And when the hour came, he reclined at tish and the Moshiach’s Shlichim were with him. (15) And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said to them, With great tshuka (deep and sincere desire, longing) I have desired to eat this Pesach with you before I suffer. (16) For I say to you, I may by no means eat it until it is fulfilled in the Malchut Hashem. (17) And having taken the Cup of Redemption, having made the bracha, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said, Take this, and share it among yourselves. (18) For I say to you, from now on by no means shall I drink from the p’ri hagefen until the Malchut Hashem comes. (19) And having taken the Afikoman and having made the hamotzi, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach broke the matzah and gave it to them, saying, This is my BASAR (SHEMOT 12:8) being given for you: this do in zikaron (remembrance) of me. [Lv 5:7; 6:23; Ezek 43:21; Isa 53:8] (20) And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach took the kos (cup) similarly after they ate, saying, This kos (cup) is HaBrit HaChadasha in my dahm, being shed for you. [Ex 24:8; Isa 42:6; Jer 31:31-34; Zech 9:11; 53:10-12]

This weekend is so special that when we do gather, we consider it as having boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Yeshua. Though we do know we should not fall in the trap of the Easter celebrations by also partaking in the heathen actions, like searching for chocolate Easter eggs. We should be aware how Jeshua by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh, we should try to stay clean like he was clean and did not do his own will but the Will of God.
Therefore let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water, holding fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

Tonight and the coming days let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching. When we shall hear the stories of how the Elohim liberated His people from the slavery of Egypt and how He is prepared to guide all those who want to be His and want to find the Way to enter the Holy Land, having put their hope on the Kingdom of God, we shall know that God is prepared also to be with us and to let us be partakers of the Body of Christ.

Tonight we take it at heart how as the blood of the Passover lamb spared the Israelite firstborns from death in Egypt, the blood of Messiah Jeshua spares us from eternal death and separation from God.

Tonight we think about that Lamb of God that could redeem humankind from the curse and the punishment of disobedience, as well as give eternal life.

Exodus 12:5 OJB Your seh (lamb [see Yeshayah 53:7]) shall be tamim (without blemish), a zachar (male) within its first year; ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats;
2 Corinthians 5:21 OJB The one who in his person had no da’as of chattat (sin) [Ac 3:14; Yn 8:46; MJ 4:15; 7:26; 1K 2:22; 1Y 3:5], this one Hashem made a chattat sin offering [Ga 3:13; YESHAYAH 53:10; VAYIKRA 4:24 TARGUM HASHIVIM] on our behalf that we might become the Tzidkat Hashem [DANIEL 9:24] in Moshiach. [1C 1:30; Pp 3:9] [T.N. In this next chapter Rav Sha’ul warns against associations or worldly influences or fascinations that will contaminate the believer, who should not think he can have both the world’s evil pleasures and the House of G-d’s holy chelek.]
Hebrews 10:19-28 OJB Therefore, Achim b’Moshiach, having confidence for bevitachon (confidently) entering haSha’ar laHashem (gate to approach G-d’s presence, access of the tzaddikim TEHILLIM 118:20) into the Kodesh HaKodashim by HaDahm HaYehoshua, (20) Which he opened for us as a Derech Chadasha, a Derech Chayyah, through the parokhet, that is to say, the parokhet of the basar of Moshiach. [Ps 16:9-10; Dan 9:26; Isa 53:5-12] (21) And als (since) we have a Kohen Gadol over the Beis Hashem, (22) Let us approach and draw near to Hashem with a lev shalem, with full assurance and bitachon of Emunah, our levavot having been sprinkled clean (tehorim) [YAZZEH, “MOSHIACH WILL SPRINKLE,” YESHAYAH 52:15] from an evil matzpun (conscience) and our bodies plunged kluhr (pure) into a tevilah in a mikveh mayim [YECHEZKEL 36:25-26]. (23) Let us, without wavering, hold firmly to the Ani Ma’amin of Tikveteinu (our Hope), for Ne’eman is the One having given the havtachah (promise). (24) And let us consider how to meorer (stimulate, motivate, shtarken) one another to ahavah and mitzvos, (25) And let us not turn away and defect from our noiheg (habitually) conducted daily minyan, as some are doing; let us impart chizzuk (strengthening, encouragement) to one another, and by so much the more as you see the Yom [HaDin (Day of Judgment)] approaching. (26) For when we intentionally commit chet b’yad ramah [“wilful sin with a high hand of defiance” BAMIDBAR 15:30] after having received the full da’as of HaEmes, there remains no longer a korban for chattoteinu, (27) But only a terrible expectation of Din and Mishpat and of a blazing EISH TZARECHA TOKHLEM (“Fire that will consume the enemies of Hashem” YESHAYAH 26:11). (28) Anyone who was doiche (rejecting or setting aside) the Torah of Moshe Rabbeinu, upon the dvar of SHNI EDIM O AL PI SHLOSHA EDIM (“Testimony of two or three witnesses” DEVARIM 19:15), dies without rachamim.

For ever changed by spiritual experience

Often people do not think much about God until something happens in their life. In life we have to face different circumstances and have to undergo different circumstances. Often whenever something serious happens and we have to face a life threatening experience, than we’re confronted with the Highest Being. Once we have had a spiritual experience, we are forever changed. We may try to forget, ignore, or run away from it, but our contact with the Divine realm will never again allow us to completely immerse ourselves in mundane life, whether to indulge in empty diversions or to try to improve the world through purely secular means.

In the time before the offering of Jeshua as a Lamb of God people had to bring offers to the altar, and everything whatever touched the Altar became sanctified when it where really things that were worthy of being brought upon the Altar in the first place. Today too we can say that everything or every one which or who comes before God or to the Altar of God must be worthy to come before God.

Normally every Jew, Christian and Muslim should be clean, not taking part to pagan festivals or pagan rites. Though in Christendom we find a majority not bothering about God’s Laws. They seem not to bother if what they do would be against the Will of God. For many Christians Spring has started yesterday and soon they shall celebrate Easter, the feast for the pagan god Eostre, the god of fertility which they shall honour by the rites of offering eggs and honouring the fertile bunnies. Those eggs and Easter bunnies have nothing to do with Jesus his resurrection. Their resurrected god is also not the Elohim Who cannot die, God being an Eternal Spirit. Also the Easter fires have nothing to do with the sacrificial offering of Christ, nor his standing up from the dead.

By taking part to such pagan rites, their hands are defiled and should they know that they may not come clear to the altar of God. In the weeks going up to that most important day of the year they should have had moments of reflection, having been conscious about the necessity to please God and not to please the world. Schools, workplaces, clubs, may all want to have the pagan symbols of the Spring time and may love the festival decorations, but real lovers of God should abstain from them. They should have cleansed their soul, and should have meditated on the Word of God and His mitzvah.

Every person who calls himself Christian, should be a follower of rabbi Jeshua, the Kristos or Christ, who worshipped not himself but his heavenly Father, the only One true God. Like he went up to God His Altar really offering himself for the sins of all, he came up to the mountain out of the walls of the city Jerusalem, to be slaughtered as a Lamb. Though we probably shall never be able to be as pure as him, we should try to do our utmost best to become like Christ, pure and clean. But spiritually, each of us should fall into that accepted category, for every child of God possesses intrinsic holiness; the true desire of every Jew and every Christian should be to do what the Most High God commands.

The Last Supper was a Passover meal

Too often Christians do forget rabbi Jeshua wanted to conclude the study time of his disciples as a seudat sium or concluding meal after the intensive 3 years of going around discussing the Holy Scrolls.

Intentionally this preparation meal was to show the offering of a new unblemished lamb and offering the world symbols for a new world of which Jeshua is the first new born, the 2nd Adam or the first of the New Creation.

By his demand to break the bread in remembrance of him the world was given a new sign for the doorpost, bringing liberation to all people who are willing to accept Jeshua as the sent one from God.

The apostles bring us a good report of what happened on the day Jesus asked to prepare everything to celebrate Passover. At the gathering taking in remembrance why we have to celebrate Passover those present thought Judas was going to buy something for the group for Passover.

The importance in this “Last Passover” narrative, like nelson says,

  is Yeshua saying of the cup after supper

“This cup is the new-quality covenant in my blood, the one being poured out in behalf of you.”

Now; Messiah is our Passover:

1Corinthians 5:7 “YOU-purge-out the old leaven, in-order-that YOU-might-be (a) new lump, according-as YOU-are unleavened-breads.

For even our passover was-sacrificed, Messiah. v8 So-that let-us-be-keeping-the-feast not with old leaven neither with leaven of-malice and of-evil, BUT with unleavened-breads of-sincerity and of-truth.” Hallelujah!

A book of life and a man born more than two thousand years ago

We may live at a time when the climax of human history is approaching fast though many do not see it how certain things where foretold already long ago and are becoming a reality we can not escape today.

Today not many “thirsts” for the living Christ. That ‘living water’ is there for all of us but many do feel hungry and thirsty and do not see the precious meal which is set in front of them. The Lamb which has been slaughtered some two thousands years ago may be put in the cupboard by many to rot in oblivion.

Are you some one who understand the kind of symbolic language when there is spoken of the one who thirsts and ‘out of his heart will flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38)?

On December 24 Christadelphians read about

“a great multitude that no one could number from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the lamb clothed in white robes … crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb’” (7:9-10). “The lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd and he will guide them to springs of living water and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (verse 17).

As many say they celebrate the birth of the saviour they took a Christmas tree in the house and have their mouthful of Santa Claus who brings gifts to many families. But about the most precious gift mankind received not much is talked. In our readings in the book of Revelation we are lead to a description of the ultimate climax of human history – we read of visions, largely, but not entirely, in symbol, picturing God’s judgements. For Christadelphians this “Time of the year” is a time for looking at the opening of “the book of life” (3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:12,15; 21:27). The seventh and only other reference to “the book of life” in the New Testament is in Philippians (4:3).

We may wonder who is written down in the “Book of life“. I think many would love to see their name in it. Jesus name was in it already long before Abraham was born. God had promised him already in the garden of Eden. And he was present some ages later to do not his own will but the Will of God. In which way are we wiling to do the will of God? Do we prefer to keep to those human traditions, which keep celebrating those pagan feasts?

Though the redeemed ones are, first of all, an exclusively Jewish band, we must not be afraid, Jesus died for all people and as such we also have the opportunity to become one of a’ great multitude out of all nations’. but not everybody shall be there in the end to enjoy the entrance of the small gate. There shall only be a selection drawn out of such environment to comprise the true Israel of God (Galatians 6:16; Ephesians 2:11-13) that we should consider how we shall be able to be a part of it. It will be possible when we know the Way, Jesus Christ, and when we are willing to follow his teachings. Today we do find lots of people who say they are Christian, but they do not follow the teachings of the master teacher rabbi Jeshua. They prefer to keep to human doctrines, like the trinity dogma and others. This often makes it difficult for people to come to see the truth, because their ears are full of puss created by false teachings and for them it seems so difficult for taking the words of the Bible just for what they are saying. It looks too simple, too easy to be the truth. But the easy thing is the easiest way to come there at the real truth. When believing those words like they are written in the Holy Scriptures, those Bible readers shall find that everything becomes clear and then they shall be pleased to pay their respects to the Lamb, because of the victory they have obtained. In the last book of the Bible they are represented as celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkoth, and as praising the Lamb for the salvation they have received. In answer to a question put by John, their character and nature are described. (Revelation 7: 9-17)

In the readings of today  we are warned about a mighty and ruthless destroyer as in Isaiah 28:2 (Revelation 9:6-13) the apostle John speaks of the serious nature of the affliction, and to its concentration on one of the tripartite divisions of the Roman Empire. It also can be related to the first plague on Egypt (Exodus 7:17) but it warns us for the days to come.

The apostle looked first at the Western Empire but then turns to the Eastern Empire which shall be very important in the Last Days. when we do know that nearly all prophesies foretold in the bible became a reality, why should not the prophesies  concerning the Last Days not be fulfilled?

The falling star, the bottomless pit, the smoking furnace, the army of locusts, and the king who leads them to battle, symbolise the up-rise of Mahomet and the Saracens in 622, and their attacks against the eastern Roman, or Byzantine Empire, but it also counts as a warning for what has happened in the past shall come back over mankind and in the land of Euphrates and Tigris (Iraq and Iran) shall start a war which shall be the beginning of a time when religions will come up against each other. Does that not sound familiar?

Love and forgive this friday

Everyday again we should remember that some 2000 years ago a man was willing to do that what his Father in heaven wanted to be done, and offered himself as a lamb to wash the world of the gravity of sin by his blood.

Still every day we may have to face many struggles, pain, sorrow and many minor and big problems. Often we may see things around us which can annoy us, sometimes people may work on our nerves, but then we see that Light of the Lamb of God that showed us the way to treat others and to step over our boundaries of limitations.

Though living in this world we have decided not to be part ‘of this world’. From our inner soul the light of Christ Jesus, who died for us, is able to transpose us and to bring us to greater waters where we can swim forwards to to ‘isle of rescue’.

In the land prepared by Christ we are to be the example for others, so that they could see how we can be united in peace and show each-other brotherly love. We do have to show those around us that we are not the ones to judge. But we are the ones who are willing to forgive and to reach out our hand of loving-kindness and helpfulness, so that we with many can go together on the way to the opened gate of the Kingdom of God.

  I think it is a helpful tool for people to insist on seeing some sort of repentance and restitution from someone who wrongs you before you trust them again. If they are not even sorry for what they’ve done, and they refuse to explain why what they did is wrong, then they can’t be forgiven, and you can’t trust them again.
