Self versus Perceived Self

Critical Digest Room

For the purpose of introduction, the self is a common concept that is either privately or generally perceived and conceived.

Talking about private or generic perceptions of self, what is the self?

Many premises have been laid on this concept. Some view it as a representation of a person. Others see it as intrinsic features that constitute an individual. For this context, the self is a subjective view of a person and their social, religious and political standings.

Well, that’s by the way.
Let’s come down to private and public perceptions of self: do people see you the way you see yourself?

Self and personality are two concepts that hardly correspond to people’s views.

In consequence, there is usually a floating ego that earns no penny.

Here are the points:

  1. You are not always who you think you are. You may think you are dedicated to your students or the…

…unworthy of a human being who wishes to evolve spiritually.

We human beings, are only mere creatures in the great masterpiece of the Divine Creator, Who we want to recognise or not. It is up to us to live according to the Creator His commandments or to ignore Him. The way we behave, the choices we make, are going to have a decision in way for our future. It is up to our intellect to choose for the right way. We need the intellect that dwells in our brains, when we wish to accomplish tasks on Earth, inspired by our souls!  So:

Mind your daily life and the present moment you are living in!

Every individual in his daily life, his choices shall determine his future. Do not hide for yourself or try to do all the time what others want, because then you shall fall apart.

Focus on what God wants. When you are on a spiritual path, you must come face-to-face with yourself
and acknowledge all of who you are. Never forget that

he shall reap what he sows. This is the infallible Divine Justice that
acts within the Laws of Creation.

To intentionally go through hardship or endure physical pain in exchange for the fulfillment
of some wish is unworthy of a human being who wishes to evolve spiritually. If a person feels
in his soul the urge to pledge to his God, then he must commit to striving to improve in
everything, seeking to keep his inner volition always pure, and also take care of his words,
thoughts and deeds….

The person who strives to improve in some way shows humility and goodwill, while one who
yields himself to suffer pain and deprivation shows unlimited vanity and conceit. The first
shows respect for the Will of the Almighty, while the latter reveals contempt, supposing, in
his puerile imagination, to be able to trade with it in some way.

Teenage self advice

Dr. Share Guru

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Teenage self advice.

I can give some general advice that may be useful to a teenage self:

  1. Don’t be afraid to be yourself: It’s important to embrace your true self and not worry too much about what others think of you. You are unique, and that is something to be celebrated.
  2. Focus on your passions: Pursue your interests and passions, whether it’s music, art, science, or sports. You will find fulfillment in doing what you love, and it will help you discover your purpose in life.
  3. Take care of your mental health: Mental health is just as important as physical health. Don’t hesitate to seek help if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or any other mental health issue.
  4. Learn from your mistakes: Everyone makes mistakes, and that’s okay. What’s important is that you learn from them and use them as…

Love – by Abirami Sethumanickam

Super-Extra Abi

i look for myself, in you
as you’re suspended in air
your first sight
your promises of forever
your blindness
your difficulty

                                 i’m convinced,
                                 you’re the answer
                                 to my fear of hating
                                 and destruction

                                                                            so i fell in love
with the first boy that turned and looked

i wonder
why you were so good to me
when all i did
was use you
as a getaway
                          you defined me
                                                       beyond what this
                                                       world has assigned for me

when you’ll love me less

Words of a leaving soul

Enter the world of fantasy.

The entire universe is hidden in me
I’m omnipresent.
Deception becomes the new good in me
I couldn’t break free from the barriers.
World will come along with me
It tried to overpower me,
I couldn’t understand why and what.
And the power to stop is not within.
There would be no world without me,
Now it is shunning me away.
It is becoming more savage in here
Than in wild
Is it because there’s no one to challenge you?
Pain arises in little heart
An unknown agony has it begun?
Despite the wounds will the hopes in my heart still remain?
When my heart is breaking into pieces
One personality is haunting me like the
HUNDREDS.
I’ll get rid of dreams,
I question and I oppose,
I won’t panic and I won’t get scared
I’ll keep flying away.
I smile, I jump
I won’t be putdown anymore
Life has…

Returning Us to Our True Nature

MIRACLES EACH DAY

“You may not feel that you have ever intended to live in fear. But the displacement of the original intent was so complete that each life has begun with fear and proceeded from this beginning continually reacting fear. While the original intent remained within you and caused you to attempt to express a Self of love despite your fear, fear has thwarted your every effort and caused the very effort that has continued the cycle of fear. To have to try to be who you are and to express who you are is the result of the displacement of the nature of love with the nature of fear. What we now are about is reversing this displacement and returning you to your true nature.” (A Course of Love, T4:3.5)

We had an “original intent” eons ago, and that was to live in love—not fear. But fear intervened, and nothing has…

Being worthy of your dreams

*
If you don’t believe you’re worthy of your dreams,
you’re definitely not honoring your light.

If you’re telling yourself
you’re not attractive or worthy of love,
you are smashing out that light like a limp candle.

The light within you
has a very important job to do on this earth,
and the only way to complete that job
is to let that light shine
and use it to do you work.

Martin Heidegger Quotes

Quoteliv

Every man is born as many men and dies as a single one.

Everyone is the other and no one is himself.

Why are there beings at all, instead of Nothing?

The most thought-provoking thing in our thought-provoking time is that we are still not thinking.

Man acts as though he were the shaper and master of language, while in fact language remains the master of man.

Making itself intelligible is suicide for philosophy.

If I take death into my life, acknowledge it, and face it squarely, I will free myself from the anxiety of death and the pettiness of life – and only then will I be free to become myself.

Martin Heidegger

Anyone can achieve their fullest potential, who we are might be predetermined, but the path we follow is always of our own choosing. We should never allow our fears or the expectations of others to set…

Being cheerful on the outside can help you – and others – feel it on the inside

Being cheerful on the outside can help you – and others – feel it on the inside

Cheerfulness can boost your energy levels, even in tough times – as philosophers and writers have long recognised

The surest sign of wisdom is a constant cheerfulness,” wrote the French philosopher Michel de Montaigne in the 16th century. “Be cheerful,” commands Prospero – arguably the wisest of all of Shakepeare’s characters – in The Tempest. Yet the impact of cheerfulness – and the power it gives us to get through difficult moments in our lives – is hard to define and easy to disregard or dismiss, even as we strive to be happy.

  • Cheerfulness is a psychological and emotional resource
  • Cheerfulness differs from happiness
  • Cheerfulness is not optimism
  • Cheerfulness is also seen as the antidote to melancholy

On Dreaming, a search for knowledge of the self #1

Kone, Krusos, Kronos

Snorkeling

“God sleeps in the rock, dreams in the plant, stirs in the animal, and awakens in man”

Ibn Arabi

I wouldn’t even know where to start, this business about dreaming it’s so extensive, let me just say for many years as far back as when I was a child maybe no more than five, or six years of age I was intrigued and interested on dreams, in my natal chart I have a very close conjunction Venus with Mars in Pisces, on the fourth  house, making a trine with Uranus in Cancer on the eight house.

Antique Planisphere Celeste Zodiac Map

Another thing that fascinated me at the time was snorkeling, and diving on the Ocean, did quite a lot of it until of course other prosaic but normal occupations took me away from it, like trying to make a living by working, now I realize that dreaming and diving were connected, you dive to…

fragmentsof myself

I collectfragmentsof myself
and place them in my heart,
Reclaiming lost parts.

Waiting, longing, hoping
for a shadow of myself
To come to life.

The past evades me,
the present scares me,
The future’s faith washes over me.

I bathe in the salt water,
an embryo forming into a new sense of self.

I return again and again and again in many formless forms,
And float off in free abandonment.

Soul-searching

poorman'sdreams

We are all cut from the same cloth

Black or white. Pauper or posh

And as those veracious bubbles do froth

The truth always comes out in the wash.

Life’s banquet is seared with many decoys

Blue, well-done, medium and rare

You can never delect in the delicious joys

Without first tasting bitter despair.

It’s always the cruel that bloom and flourish

It beggars belief how the meek don’t inherit

We must first plant wisdom and courage

To stop them reaping from our own merit.

Because when life is unkind

And your ducks don’t stay in a row

Sometimes you have to lose your mind

To find your soul.

Existence in the non-existent and non-existence in the existence

When wondering about the existence, the why and how, there is the darkness around us in which we look for the light. There we find ourselves in a world that has shifted from the here and now. We, looking at the age that has shifted all emphasis to the here, there, yesterday, today and tomorrow, and thus brought about a demonisation of man and his world.

The many things that bind us to each other and to this world we want to curse, but they keep us under their spell. Who plays the game? Who has the strings of our body and soul?

Who is the player of this puppet cabinet, where we are the puppets of who in what world? It was not that we ourselves presented ourselves to be a glove puppet. And who is that One Who plays with the hand puppets of this world?

In this world, we see many who want to seize power and even manage to make money out of their dictatorial traits.  Then they take pleasure in having flocks of dictators around them, until the people wake up, when it is too late and the phenomenon of dictators has already caused great misery. Then people will have to admit with shame that they have allowed such foolishness to take place and to cause so much damage. Then they will have the nerve to admit that mankind has been robbed of his transcendence by the short-sightedness of the super-intellectuals, but also of the foolish followers who turned a blind eye while the others warned.

Many have fallen a victim to unconsciousness.

But then, at last, they come to see, man’s task is the exact opposite: to become conscious of the contents that press upward from the unconscious.

Neither should he persist in his unconsciousness, nor remain identical with the unconscious elements of his being, thus evading his destiny, which is to create more and more consciousness.

What is the sole purpose of human existence? Is it to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being?

What affects us? What affects him or her who is standing next to us?

For sure

the increase in our consciousness affects the unconscious. {Carl Jung}

Strength in me

My heart is never guarded,

screw the ones who think it should be

I ache, love, and feel with such passion,

that’s the strength in me.

Our real self ever perfect and free

“Our real self, the spirit, is ever perfect and free, but we have forgotten that.
So we identify with our present experience of bondage and consequently suffer in countless ways.
Our situation is like someone who is asleep and dreaming that he is being tortured and beaten…
He need not placate, overpower, or escape his torturers.
He needs only to wake up.

Derek Walcott: Love After Love – El amor después del amor

Elizabeth Cárdenas - Writer/Escritora

Happy Sunday everyone.

For the past few days, I’d been thinking quite a bit about poetry, and I wasn’t sure why.  Then, while watching my favorite show, Super Soul Sunday, Oprah quoted a few lines from the poem Love After Love by Derek Walcott. My curiosity led me to google it, of course. By the time I finished reading, my eyes were filled with tears.

Over the past 11 years, I have been going through a spiritual awakening. This poem summed up beautifully what I have not been able to express. I hope you enjoy it.

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your…
