Er zijn gelukkig heel wat jonge kinderen uit de getto’s kunnen gesmokkeld worden en naar veiliger oorden gebracht. Verborgen bij anders sprekende leerden vele van deze ondergedoken Joden een andere taal en gebruiken, waarbij zij en later hun kinderen geen Hebreeuws meer konden spreken.
