Every tomorrow is a new invitation to beautiful possibilities

Every tomorrow is a new invitation to beautiful possibilities.

‘I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will…go in…and find pasture.’ John 10:9

Dear God, being under the salvation by Christ Jesus, I do hope I can become like him
putting my own will aside to do your will, every day.
Please enable me to be a worthy Christian.

Alive To God – Daily Thought – Ogen, hart en ziel op God gericht

Our eyes and heart should be on the Most High divine Creator.
Onze ogen, hart en ziel horen op de Allerhoogste Goddelijke Schepper gericht te zijn.

Alive to God

2 Kings 3:18

‘But this is only a simple thing for the LORD, for He will make you victorious… ’

  • We should never limit the Lord to what we think He can do.
  • What may seem impossible to us can be a simple and easy thing for the Lord to do.
  • His desire is that we would walk in victory and not in defeat.
  • Look at you problems and see them for the Lord’s perspective.

Prayer: Lord, You are great and You do miracles so great. There is no one else like you, so I will trust You with my challenges and difficulties and I will believe that they are easy things for You to solve. Amen.

2 Konings 3:18

‘Ja, dit is nog te gering in die oë van die HERE : Hy sal ook die Moabiete in julle hande gee.’

  • Ons moet nooit die Here beperk…

A Vow Unto The Lord

In remembrance of the Word of God and the Law given to the world we make a vow

Our Father which art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
May Thy rule come into my heart more and more, and Thy will be done in my mortal body.
Relying on the assistance of Thy promised grace to help in every time of need,
through Jesus Christ our Lord, I register this Vow.
Daily will I remember at the Throne of Heavenly Grace the general interests of the harvest work,
and particularly the share which I myself am privileged to enjoy in that work,
and the dear co-laborers everywhere.
I vow to still more carefully, if possible, scrutinize my thoughts and words and doings,
to the intent that I may be the better enabled to serve Thee, and Thy dear flock.
I vow to Thee that I will be on the alert to resist everything akin to Spiritism and Occultism, and, remembering that there are but the two masters, I shall resist these snares in all reasonable ways as being of the adversary.

I further vow, that with the exceptions below, I will at all times and in all places, conduct myself toward those of the opposite sex in private exactly as I would do with them in public — in the presence of a congregation of the Lord’s people.

And, so far as reasonably possible, I will avoid being in the same room with any of the opposite sex alone, unless the door to the room stand wide open.

Exceptions in the case of Brethren — wife, children, mother and natural sisters:
in the case of Sisters — husband, children, father and natural brothers.

Faith without risk is a contradiction

Faith without risk is a contradiction.

‘For as the body without the spirits is dead,
so faith without works is dead also.’
James 2:26

Dear God, Give me the strength to persevere in the faith
and to perform good works of faith.

God Loves All People

Having presented one prayer today for peace, lets look also at a that Divine Creator Who has a place in His Heart for all and wants nothing more than peace between all people.

The guestwriter forthis prayer is Mary Harwell Sayler who has placed 27 books in all genres with Christian and educational companies and over 2,000 poems, articles, devotionals, and children’s stories with traditional and online publications.

For her, in some of her texts it seems that God is the Only One, though at other places (and in the last part of this prayer) she also takes Jesus to be her god. Though looking at Deuteronomy she created the prayer saying:

Almighty God, You alone
are holy.
You are The One
to Whom all worship
and honor
and glory are due.

Nothing else can compare to You.

Nothing else can bless us like You
or love us like You
or redeem us like You
or forgive us like You can and do.

Help us to hear You. {Hear, O people of God}

but then suddenly goes into the mist of human doctrinal teaching of the Trinity. Though you would think she should know, by reading so many different Bible versions, and she herself saying

Regularly reading the Bible gives us much to say, and practice helps us to say it well, but what about credibility? With it, people pay attention.  They begin to trust our ability to handle God’s Word and their concerns rightly. They might even become more open to God’s Word and work in their lives.

She also writes

We can choose to believe The Word that God has no favorites and, therefore, asks us to love others as we love ourselves. If that’s a problem, keep in check a self-deprecating tone! According to The Word, God loves you, loves other people, and expects us to do the same. That doesn’t mean we have to like ourselves or other people all of the time, but, oh, please, please, never say we never will! {Credible words and The Word}

Let us therefore believe the Words of God, given to us in the Bible and from it come to see that Great Love He has for us, like Jesus also praying to That Most High, and we praying

Dear Lord God Almighty, thank You for Your Word to us that shows us how to live and speak and write in a manner that’s credible, kind, and pleasing to You. Let Your Word to us be our word to ourselves and to those we address in love, truth, and Jesus’ Name.

A #Prayer for #Peace

Today’s guest, Morgan, is a woman who hopes for a bright tomorrow, whilst she looks with dreams unfurled. She was asked by her pastor to compose a prayer for peace for an evening vespers service her church is holding tonight before the election.

She says she

was so moved by what I was led to write, I simply had to share it.

On her site you may find very beautiful photographs accompanying her very nice poetic language. When listening to language it is important to come to feel straight ahead some magic combination that stirs the heart, mind and spirit and can let us linger away.

God has given us different talents and when we can use it in His honour they even come out to the better. Each word we say, each word we use in the end shall be accounted for by the Most High. We also should try to use our words to make our own prayers and the one Morgan made we love to share with you, our readers and do hope they can bring you and us to a moment of divine inspiration and fire of tranquillity and peace,so that we can hear the Most High Voice, to inspire us more.

Inner Peace

Gracious Heavenly Father
Quiet our thoughts so they may Center on You.
You who Knows every beat of our Hearts,
Every Breath we take.
Hush our chaos for Your Love’s Sake
And Speak in a voice Soft and Clear;
Holy Whisperings that drive away fear.

Spirit of Peace, Bless the Weary Heart,
The Sorrowful Traveler,
The Lost and Lonely Soul.
Generous Love, Reach down from on High
To Caress with Tenderness when fear tries to pervade.
Trusting Joy, return like a River of Loving Light
To Reign in Triumph in our Hearts.
Lord of Love, Fill us in Blessed Renewal
Giving us Strength to walk in Abundant Hope.

Blessed Spirit of Life and Breath,
Creator before the foundation of the world,
Master Artist of the Universal Mystery,
You are All in All in All.
Eternal Word of Life,
Giver of Wisdom and Unfathomable Peace,
Guide us to Understand Truth…

A Prayer for 9-11

God Squad

world-trade-center-9-11-crossHeavenly Father and Precious Lord, we seek you and your healing mercy.

As fifteen years pass, we remember the pain and suffering of a horrible day. We remember the loss of life, the destruction, and the chaos of that fateful morning. Sorrow remains. Grief returns. Heartache and despair weigh us down.

Almighty God comfort and calm our souls. Turn our hearts into an altar where healing can take place. Transform our spirits into a place of peace. Allow restoration and redemption in our lives. We are a people who need you and your presence.

Give us strength to perform your will. Allow us to move forward as a renewed people. Keep us bold, strong, and true. Just like clay on the potter’s wheel, shape us and mold us into a new creation, one that continues to show your glory.

As conflicts remain and others begin, protect our warriors in harm’s…

A Prayer for Wisdom Amid Violence

Editor’s note: The last several weeks have witnessed many events of violence that are difficult to comprehend, and which confound efforts to respond wisely and biblically: the Orlando nightclub shooting, repeated acts of terror in the Middle East, and most recently, terrifying violence involving police in the United States. As you process your own reactions to these events, please join pastor Mel Lawrenz in this prayer for God’s wisdom.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” — James 1:5

Dear God,

You have said in your word that whenever we know we need wisdom, we should ask for it, and that you will give it generously. In these perilous times, we pray for your wisdom from above.

Grant us wisdom to know the way you look on the affairs of our nation.

Grant us wisdom to understand how you view our world today.

Grant us wisdom to know what an ordered and just and compassionate society looks like.

Grant us wisdom to know what to do with the reality of evil.

Grant us wisdom to uphold the defenseless.

Grant us wisdom to love you and love our neighbor as ourselves.

Lord, we pray that our leaders will personally understand that you are a dynamic reality in the world and in our lives.

May we be a nation which depends on you, acknowledges your blessings, and values what you value. And on the day after the election, Lord, help us to be faithful members of your kingdom and responsible citizens of the nation we inhabit.

In Christ’s name and for his sake, Amen.
