Now in Vienna there’s ten pretty women
There’s a shoulder where Death comes to cry
There’s a lobby with nine hundred windows
There’s a tree where the doves go to die
There’s a piece that was torn from the morning
And it hangs in the Gallery of Frost
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
Take this waltz with the clamp on it’s jaws
Oh I want you, I want you, I want you
On a chair with a dead magazine
In the cave at the tip of the lily
In some hallway where love’s never been
On a bed where the moon has been sweating
In a cry filled with footsteps and sand
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
Take its broken waist in your hand
This waltz, this waltz, this waltz, this waltz
With it’s very own breath of brandy and Death
Dragging it’s tail in the sea
There’s a concert hall in Vienna
Where your mouth had a thousand reviews
There’s a bar where the boys have stopped talking
They’ve been sentenced to death by the blues
Ah, but who is it climbs to your picture
With a garland of freshly cut tears?
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
Take this waltz it’s been dying for years
There’s an attic where children are playing
Where I’ve got to lie down with you soon
In a dream of Hungarian lanterns
In the mist of some sweet afternoon
And I’ll see what you’ve chained to your sorrow
All your sheep and your lilies of snow
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
With its “I’ll never forget you, you know!”
This waltz, this waltz, this waltz, this waltz …
With its very own breath of brandy and death
Dragging its tail in the sea
And I’ll dance with you in Vienna
I’ll be wearing a river’s disguise
The hyacinth wild on my shoulder
My mouth on the dew of your thighs
And I’ll bury my soul in a scrapbook
With the photographs there, and the moss
And I’ll yield to the flood of your beauty
My cheap violin and my cross
And you’ll carry me down on your dancing
To the pools that you lift on your wrist
Oh my love, Oh my love
Take this waltz, take this waltz
It’s yours now. It’s all that there is
In our life we may encounter lots of pains and moments we would not like to encounter, but we have to carry them with us and live with them. Point is that we learn from those not so nice moments and that we can learn from those less pleasant experiences, so that Hard days may strengthen us.
I really like this simple but powerfully stated poem by Robert Browning Hamilton called “I Walked A Mile.” It is only two stanzas but has a lot to say:
“I walked a mile with Pleasure; She chatted all the way But left me none the wiser For all she had to say.
I walked a mile with Sorrow; And ne’er a word said she But, oh! The things I learned from her, When Sorrow walked with me.”
I completely agree with what he said in this poem for I have received many more blessings from Sorrow than ever I did from Pleasure! Please share your thoughts with me on this poem!
Coming closer to the end of the year
we best forget all the sad moments of the year
and take some extra time to remember the beautiful moments of the past few months.
Today’s poem comes from “an old Texan punk” who is “trying to make it in this sea of madness” and as an infinitesimal point may sometimes come to a point of explosion. {Singularity} With the knowledge that this universe is a part of him, voice of a pulsar, burning across the empty spaces, he looks at the past, whilst he might feel the mourning sing, vibrations in the dawn, o’er the graying mountains, blue faces have now gone. {Morning of Mourning}
“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
– Carl Gustav Jung
“We usually look outside of ourselves for heroes and teachers.
It has not occurred to most people that they may already be the role model they seek.
The wholeness they are looking for may be trapped within themselves by beliefs, attitudes, and self-doubt.
But our wholeness exists in us now.
Trapped though it may be, it can be called upon for guidance, direction, and most fundamentally, comfort. It can be remembered.
Eventually we may come to live by it.”
– Rachel Naomi Remen, Kitchen Table Wisdom 10th Anniversary
Dr Austin Ejaife, [an Olorogun, the ‘Ugo’ of Agbon Kingdom] asks where we look for answers, direction, and meaning in our lives.
These Dreams (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Who has not high aspirations becoming somebody very important or well known? When we grow up we are first of all confronted with the female so close to us, because we where inside her for nine months, that we have a special, sometimes very sacred relationship with her. Mostly all infants look up at their mother.
Next in line comes the father who often is pushed from his throne by the teacher. How many children do not go in dispute with their father, because the teacher told so and so? From toddler going into our teens we loose innocence and start comparing those adults more and more.
Looking at those grown ups we at first admire them a lot, for what they can and for what they say. They bring us to dream about who we ourselves could become, … like them …
Dr Austin Ejaife wonders
Do we look outside–dreaming with hopes and aspirations of things to come, things that may or may not someday be in the future? Or do we turn our gaze inward–towards our own heart–to find our true beauty and awaken our power, our potential, our true ability.
Though the world may turn around us in our eyes often we do not believe enough in ourselves. For us it does not seem to be possible that everything that could ever be possible… already lies inside of us. The writer of Finding Your Clarity Of Purpose may find that our true beauty, our power, our potential, our true ability, is patiently awaiting us to look there and discover it, to recognize it, and to use it, but for many people this shall stay a long undiscovered path.
Because many people not knowing that everything is in themselves, they miss out on a lot of things and are not able to find true fulfilment and happiness. We also should know and come to understand that real full happiness with no problems and sorrows at all, does not exist. There is no such thing as a world without sorrow. Like every rose has its thorns our life is full of thorns but also hopefully full of flowers with nice smells. Problem with many people is that they are so much focussing on the dark side of their life that they do not see the sun-rays nor the vibrant colours.
Ejaife writes
Do not let your vision be clouded with dreams or ideas that some outside force can bring you fulfillment in life… it cannot and will not; only you have the ability to unlock your purpose and potential. Clarity of vision comes to us when we look within our hearts and see ourselves for who we are, who we have been, and who we can be, and then trust ourselves fully and completely.
Why are so many afraid of their inner “I“? why are so many afraid to become confronted with the “I am” they are?
We should be not afraid to grow up and to try to become ourself, daring to look into our own heart to find clarity of purpose and meaning.
Some people complain that Europeans do not show such a solidarity, like now for Brussels and Paris, when something happens in places like Ankara. They often forget that the other places are very far away from the beds of those Europeans who now felt the terror close to their own home.
It would be nice if people would show more solidarity with the innocent victims at other places, but the big problem is that every day something gruesome happens somewhere in the world and we can’t stay off work every day to go on the streets to show our sorrow for them.
But what we all can do every day is to show our fellow man that we are here for him or her and that we appreciate him or her for what or how he or she is.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry near Montreal, Canada (May 1942)
Antoine de Saint Exupéry was a passionate searcher. He was passionate about life, about spirituality, the depth of mystery. But, for a long time, for him too the skies remained silent. Notwithstanding all his sustained trials, his prayers were not heard. Until one day he discovered that the biggest mercy of prayer consists in – not being heard. Prayer itself is mercy.
Every human being sooner or later is confronted with sorrow, suffering, saying goodbye, and come across questions that are not answered or are confronted with problems that cannot be solved. We try everything, but nothing succeeds, nothing works, nothing moves – not through willpower, not through sustained prayer. Sooner or later we ask ourselves: why?
We want an answer.

A sign. In this way in spite of ourselves, we imagine what is good for us. We create an imagethat we need to be helped and how and when this should happen. It is exactly at this point that de Saint Exupéry discovered that the answer to his prayer did not coincide with the images he had in mind. He realised that the answer to his prayer exceeds the image created by us. It does not allow to be steered, or the use of words and is only to be understood by the heart. From a heart that exists through… trust.
Only belief that trusts completely can accept the holy ground of ‘not understanding’.
When we touch the bottom of intense doubt with our problems – and yet trust – true belief surges. Something becomes visible and tangible which we would otherwise never see, feel or experience.
Then we may discover with surprise, with an inner certitude that does not need a rational explanation, that -in essence- we are inspired.
And stronger : right through the agony of doubt, paradoxally enough, we find inner peace.

Throw away all the worries about being not perfect – you are perfect just the way you are and a big smile from a happy heart is much more worth than a fake laugh of a wrinkle-less face.

A scene of Saint-Exupéry working on the manuscript for Le Petit Prince includes a peek at his imagined characters; the delightful back cover depicts the Little Prince and Tonio, shoes off, sitting in opposite chairs, apparently deep in speculative conversation.

When Robin Williams died, my Facebook screen lit up with one quote after another from “The Little Prince.”I didn’t understand why so many people responded with lines from this book.
One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.
You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.
All grown-ups were once children… but only few of them remember it.

7 Best Book Covers Of All Time (whytoread.com)
Few stories are as widely read and as universally cherished by children and adults alike as The Little Prince. Richard Howard’s translation of the beloved classic beautifully reflects Saint-Exupéry’s unique and gifted style. Howard, an acclaimed poet and one of the preeminent translators of our time, has excelled in bringing the English text as close as possible to the French, in language, style, and most important, spirit. The artwork in this edition has been restored to match in detail and in color Saint-Exupéry’s original artwork. Combining Richard Howard’s translation with restored original art, this definitive English-language edition of The Little Prince will capture the hearts of readers of all ages.

Inspired by His Love (enteringthepromisedland.wordpress.com)
Indwelt by the light of God that continually produces good works springing from that love God has poured into our heart before (Rom 5:5), we can experience that there is nothing greater in this world and beyond than His Love offers. God’s Love is better than being right, better than being successful, better than being known, and better than possessing all material things one could wish for.
A story might simply be a story if it stands by itself — in a vacuum. Yet, a story rooted in our life experiences is not just a story. It is much more. In it we find revealed the particular relationship that we, the storytellers, have with our environment. Individual stories are part of the fabric that is our worldview. Stories, whether fictitious or true, spring forth from our values, believes, perceptions, dreams, imaginations or wishes, all of which are bound to our life experiences, which in turn are fundamentally shaped by our particular environment. The stories, then, that we tell ourselves are bound up in a feedback system whereby our lives find expression in stories which are in turn enacted by us. If, as Ishmael tells us, we believe that the world was made for man (i.e. man as the climax of the whole cosmic drama of creation) and that we are at odds with nature’s distasteful, dehumanizing elements (i.e. moving beyond the wretchedness of the animal condition), then the stories that we will write and enact are stories of conquest, progress, and an alienation from nature.

“The Bible is indeed the greatest book ever written. It has shaped the cultures of the world in countless ways, and it contains the words of everlasting life. Sommigen nemen aan dat Gods Koninkrijk geen wereldomvattend Vrederijk is maar eerder een geestelijke toestand in het hart van de vromen zou zijn. Voor hetzelfde woord vindt men zowel de vertaling “koninkrijk” als “koningschap” waarbij het Koninkrijk door zijn omvangrijkheid overal te merken zal zijn en terugslaat op het Vrederijk van Christus Jezus.

Bible prophecies do not deal only with the ancient past. They also accurately foretell events that are taking place in our day. But at the moment we focus at numerous prophecies preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures (commonly called the Old Testament) which long before the man was born told about events which would happen in his time and around him, his betrayal, humiliation, torture, execution, death, and burial. From those writings of the Old and New Testament nobody should have doubts who that man is who is called Immanuel, the son of man and Messiah, born out of the root of Jess in the tribe of king David.
In Scripture, all things are directed towards a man who was a servant of servants, in whom people should come to have faith. First we saw the connection with Eve and her seed, and in this article you may see the connection with Abraham.
Already in the Old Testament we find the focus on a son of man who is called the son of God, who shall be the most pure set apart (holy) servant of God who was been told about in the Garden of Eden, to be the one bruised.
Many Old Testament writers wrote about the prophet to come, about whom is spoke in the book of Moses and who shall be the special “Seed of a woman” given by God and who will bruise Satan’s head whilst his heel would be bruised with nails on the wooden stake.
Jewish and Christian literature since the time of Yeshua or Jeshua have pointed to Genesis 3:15 as the first reference to the Messiah in the Torah. Does one need proof to come to a certain belief? We can look at the signs in nature and find out what happened to certain people in the past, such as Noah and Paul. With the Book of Books, Allah has provided the world with His Interpretative Word.
When we speak about “Faith” (iman) we look at acceptance of the Belief in the existence and oneness of God (Allah).and the existence of the Book of books of which God is the author, existing of five main parts, the Torah (revealed to Moses),,the Psalms (revealed to David).and the Writings of Kings and prophets as well as the Gospel (revealed to Jesus) with the writings of his apostles,
