I got to confess I had committed many mistakes through my life, a few very costly, and what is worst, the most grave with no remedy!
As we age, we slowly, or suddenly we realize, this fact, and grieve us, what to do?
When you do not even have the chance to ask for forgiveness, or do nothing to repair them, your heart grows heavy with pain, and despair, and we only have a tool in repentance, and prayer if you are a believer, those who are not, I wonder what they do? What their hearts tell them to do, and how can they lift the heavy weight of guilt from their hearts, I guess despair, pain, and tears and regret are common to our Human condition, and also our burden.
Now in Vienna there’s ten pretty women
There’s a shoulder where Death comes to cry
There’s a lobby with nine hundred windows
There’s a tree where the doves go to die
There’s a piece that was torn from the morning
And it hangs in the Gallery of Frost
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
Take this waltz with the clamp on it’s jaws
Oh I want you, I want you, I want you
On a chair with a dead magazine
In the cave at the tip of the lily
In some hallway where love’s never been
On a bed where the moon has been sweating
In a cry filled with footsteps and sand
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
Take its broken waist in your hand
This waltz, this waltz, this waltz, this waltz
With it’s very own breath of brandy and Death
Dragging it’s tail in the sea
There’s a concert hall in Vienna
Where your mouth had a thousand reviews
There’s a bar where the boys have stopped talking
They’ve been sentenced to death by the blues
Ah, but who is it climbs to your picture
With a garland of freshly cut tears?
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
Take this waltz it’s been dying for years
There’s an attic where children are playing
Where I’ve got to lie down with you soon
In a dream of Hungarian lanterns
In the mist of some sweet afternoon
And I’ll see what you’ve chained to your sorrow
All your sheep and your lilies of snow
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
With its “I’ll never forget you, you know!”
This waltz, this waltz, this waltz, this waltz …
With its very own breath of brandy and death
Dragging its tail in the sea
And I’ll dance with you in Vienna
I’ll be wearing a river’s disguise
The hyacinth wild on my shoulder
My mouth on the dew of your thighs
And I’ll bury my soul in a scrapbook
With the photographs there, and the moss
And I’ll yield to the flood of your beauty
My cheap violin and my cross
And you’ll carry me down on your dancing
To the pools that you lift on your wrist
Oh my love, Oh my love
Take this waltz, take this waltz
It’s yours now. It’s all that there is
In our life we may encounter lots of pains and moments we would not like to encounter, but we have to carry them with us and live with them. Point is that we learn from those not so nice moments and that we can learn from those less pleasant experiences, so that Hard days may strengthen us.
I really like this simple but powerfully stated poem by Robert Browning Hamilton called “I Walked A Mile.” It is only two stanzas but has a lot to say:
“I walked a mile with Pleasure; She chatted all the way But left me none the wiser For all she had to say.
I walked a mile with Sorrow; And ne’er a word said she But, oh! The things I learned from her, When Sorrow walked with me.”
I completely agree with what he said in this poem for I have received many more blessings from Sorrow than ever I did from Pleasure! Please share your thoughts with me on this poem!
Coming closer to the end of the year
we best forget all the sad moments of the year
and take some extra time to remember the beautiful moments of the past few months.
Today’s poem comes from “an old Texan punk” who is “trying to make it in this sea of madness” and as an infinitesimal point may sometimes come to a point of explosion. {Singularity} With the knowledge that this universe is a part of him, voice of a pulsar, burning across the empty spaces, he looks at the past, whilst he might feel the mourning sing, vibrations in the dawn, o’er the graying mountains, blue faces have now gone. {Morning of Mourning}
“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
– Carl Gustav Jung
“We usually look outside of ourselves for heroes and teachers.
It has not occurred to most people that they may already be the role model they seek.
The wholeness they are looking for may be trapped within themselves by beliefs, attitudes, and self-doubt.
But our wholeness exists in us now.
Trapped though it may be, it can be called upon for guidance, direction, and most fundamentally, comfort. It can be remembered.
Eventually we may come to live by it.”
– Rachel Naomi Remen, Kitchen Table Wisdom 10th Anniversary
Dr Austin Ejaife, [an Olorogun, the ‘Ugo’ of Agbon Kingdom] asks where we look for answers, direction, and meaning in our lives.
These Dreams (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Who has not high aspirations becoming somebody very important or well known? When we grow up we are first of all confronted with the female so close to us, because we where inside her for nine months, that we have a special, sometimes very sacred relationship with her. Mostly all infants look up at their mother.
Next in line comes the father who often is pushed from his throne by the teacher. How many children do not go in dispute with their father, because the teacher told so and so? From toddler going into our teens we loose innocence and start comparing those adults more and more.
Looking at those grown ups we at first admire them a lot, for what they can and for what they say. They bring us to dream about who we ourselves could become, … like them …
Dr Austin Ejaife wonders
Do we look outside–dreaming with hopes and aspirations of things to come, things that may or may not someday be in the future? Or do we turn our gaze inward–towards our own heart–to find our true beauty and awaken our power, our potential, our true ability.
Though the world may turn around us in our eyes often we do not believe enough in ourselves. For us it does not seem to be possible that everything that could ever be possible… already lies inside of us. The writer of Finding Your Clarity Of Purpose may find that our true beauty, our power, our potential, our true ability, is patiently awaiting us to look there and discover it, to recognize it, and to use it, but for many people this shall stay a long undiscovered path.
Because many people not knowing that everything is in themselves, they miss out on a lot of things and are not able to find true fulfilment and happiness. We also should know and come to understand that real full happiness with no problems and sorrows at all, does not exist. There is no such thing as a world without sorrow. Like every rose has its thorns our life is full of thorns but also hopefully full of flowers with nice smells. Problem with many people is that they are so much focussing on the dark side of their life that they do not see the sun-rays nor the vibrant colours.
Ejaife writes
Do not let your vision be clouded with dreams or ideas that some outside force can bring you fulfillment in life… it cannot and will not; only you have the ability to unlock your purpose and potential. Clarity of vision comes to us when we look within our hearts and see ourselves for who we are, who we have been, and who we can be, and then trust ourselves fully and completely.
Why are so many afraid of their inner “I“? why are so many afraid to become confronted with the “I am” they are?
We should be not afraid to grow up and to try to become ourself, daring to look into our own heart to find clarity of purpose and meaning.
Some people complain that Europeans do not show such a solidarity, like now for Brussels and Paris, when something happens in places like Ankara. They often forget that the other places are very far away from the beds of those Europeans who now felt the terror close to their own home.
It would be nice if people would show more solidarity with the innocent victims at other places, but the big problem is that every day something gruesome happens somewhere in the world and we can’t stay off work every day to go on the streets to show our sorrow for them.
But what we all can do every day is to show our fellow man that we are here for him or her and that we appreciate him or her for what or how he or she is.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry near Montreal, Canada (May 1942)
Antoine de Saint Exupéry was a passionate searcher. He was passionate about life, about spirituality, the depth of mystery. But, for a long time, for him too the skies remained silent. Notwithstanding all his sustained trials, his prayers were not heard. Until one day he discovered that the biggest mercy of prayer consists in – not being heard. Prayer itself is mercy.
Every human being sooner or later is confronted with sorrow, suffering, saying goodbye, and come across questions that are not answered or are confronted with problems that cannot be solved. We try everything, but nothing succeeds, nothing works, nothing moves – not through willpower, not through sustained prayer. Sooner or later we ask ourselves: why?
We want an answer.
Interior Museum of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in Tarfaya (Morocco) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
A sign. In this way in spite of ourselves, we imagine what is good for us. We create an imagethat we need to be helped and how and when this should happen. It is exactly at this point that de Saint Exupéry discovered that the answer to his prayer did not coincide with the images he had in mind. He realised that the answer to his prayer exceeds the image created by us. It does not allow to be steered, or the use of words and is only to be understood by the heart. From a heart that exists through… trust.
Only belief that trusts completely can accept the holy ground of ‘not understanding’.
When we touch the bottom of intense doubt with our problems – and yet trust – true belief surges. Something becomes visible and tangible which we would otherwise never see, feel or experience.
Then we may discover with surprise, with an inner certitude that does not need a rational explanation, that -in essence- we are inspired.
And stronger : right through the agony of doubt, paradoxally enough, we find inner peace.

Throw away all the worries about being not perfect – you are perfect just the way you are and a big smile from a happy heart is much more worth than a fake laugh of a wrinkle-less face.

A scene of Saint-Exupéry working on the manuscript for Le Petit Prince includes a peek at his imagined characters; the delightful back cover depicts the Little Prince and Tonio, shoes off, sitting in opposite chairs, apparently deep in speculative conversation.

One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.

Few stories are as widely read and as universally cherished by children and adults alike as The Little Prince. Richard Howard’s translation of the beloved classic beautifully reflects Saint-Exupéry’s unique and gifted style. Howard, an acclaimed poet and one of the preeminent translators of our time, has excelled in bringing the English text as close as possible to the French, in language, style, and most important, spirit. The artwork in this edition has been restored to match in detail and in color Saint-Exupéry’s original artwork. Combining Richard Howard’s translation with restored original art, this definitive English-language edition of The Little Prince will capture the hearts of readers of all ages.
It’s a Little Lonely (bronwendeklerk.com)
“Where are the people?…It’s a little lonely in the desert…”
“It is lonely when you’re among people, too”
Inspired by His Love (enteringthepromisedland.wordpress.com)
Indwelt by the light of God that continually produces good works springing from that love God has poured into our heart before (Rom 5:5), we can experience that there is nothing greater in this world and beyond than His Love offers. God’s Love is better than being right, better than being successful, better than being known, and better than possessing all material things one could wish for.
A story might simply be a story if it stands by itself — in a vacuum. Yet, a story rooted in our life experiences is not just a story. It is much more. In it we find revealed the particular relationship that we, the storytellers, have with our environment. Individual stories are part of the fabric that is our worldview. Stories, whether fictitious or true, spring forth from our values, believes, perceptions, dreams, imaginations or wishes, all of which are bound to our life experiences, which in turn are fundamentally shaped by our particular environment. The stories, then, that we tell ourselves are bound up in a feedback system whereby our lives find expression in stories which are in turn enacted by us. If, as Ishmael tells us, we believe that the world was made for man (i.e. man as the climax of the whole cosmic drama of creation) and that we are at odds with nature’s distasteful, dehumanizing elements (i.e. moving beyond the wretchedness of the animal condition), then the stories that we will write and enact are stories of conquest, progress, and an alienation from nature.
Everyday again we should remember that some 2000 years ago a man was willing to do that what his Father in heaven wanted to be done, and offered himself as a lamb to wash the world of the gravity of sin by his blood.
Still every day we may have to face many struggles, pain, sorrow and many minor and big problems. Often we may see things around us which can annoy us, sometimes people may work on our nerves, but then we see that Light of the Lamb of God that showed us the way to treat others and to step over our boundaries of limitations.
Though living in this world we have decided not to be part ‘of this world’. From our inner soul the light of Christ Jesus, who died for us, is able to transpose us and to bring us to greater waters where we can swim forwards to to ‘isle of rescue’.
In the land prepared by Christ we are to be the example for others, so that they could see how we can be united in peace and show each-other brotherly love. We do have to show those around us that we are not the ones to judge. But we are the ones who are willing to forgive and to reach out our hand of loving-kindness and helpfulness, so that we with many can go together on the way to the opened gate of the Kingdom of God.
Forgive? You’re Kidding Me, Right? (inspirationalchristiansfortoday.com) The concept of forgiveness can be a hard thing to digest. If someone wronged us, granting forgiveness can feel almost as if we’ve been hit twice. The first time when we were so generously issued the wrong-doing; the second when we struggled to set-aside our ill-feelings and extended the gift of forgiveness. After all, he/she may have deserved anything but a gift.
A new identity (poetryjoy.com)
God already sees us as perfected, beautiful and whole in Christ. The hard part is seeing, accepting and believing it for ourselves.
How to Overcome a Bitter Spirit (familyencouragement.wordpress.com)
There are devastating consequences in the personal life and relationships of a bitter person. The Bible speaks about the development of bitterness in Ephesians 4:31 and the following verse deals with it’s consequences and solution.
+
God tells us we are to be “forgiving one another”. This is the key to dealing with being resentful over past hurts. Our bitterness and disappointment in people can only be resolved through forgiveness. Period. A bitter person refuses to forgive the offender.
Forgiveness (po11ycheck.wordpress.com) Reposted from Courageous Christian FatherForgiveness it can be easier said then done. Do you easily forgive others when they do wrong to you? Have you ever had anyone not forgive you and you wished they did? What does it mean to forgive?
+
Christ casted our sins into the sea of forgetfulness. Our sins were cast as far as the East is from the West. Our sins to be remembered no more. So where is the sea of forgetfulness? Well, it is a place that I wouldn’t want to know where it is. Because all is forgotten there. How far exactly is the East from the West? Well just think the Earth is round so, you can keep going and going. Just the same, God’s forgiveness keeps going and is everlasting. If God can forgive our sins, shouldn’t we? See Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:13
Bible Verses to Comfort – It Hurts Me to Forgive – Forgiveness (darrellcreswell.wordpress.com)
When we have been wronged by someone, a barrier is formed in our hearts. We put up a wall to the offense that hinders us from forgetting, letting go, and moving on.
+
Jesus said we should forgive unconditionally. In contrast, humans put conditions on forgiveness.
Forgive Us Our Sins…… (coarpk.wordpress.com)
Some sins are more easily forgiven than others. We can forgive a lie, depending on how big it is. We can forgive a false word, as long as it’s not said against us. We can forgive a little anger, as long as we weren’t embarrassed by it. But what happens when the sin that we’re called to forgive is more significant. What if someone steals from us? Breaks into our house? Hits our car? What happens if someone takes the life of someone we love? How do we forgive them?
Does the Bible say that you should forgive someone who does not repent? (winteryknight.wordpress.com)
“It is a common human assumption that the violator of the rights of others must ask for forgiveness before the wronged party can be expected to accept the apology and grant forgiveness…But Jesus here asks the person wronged to forgive the one responsible for the wrongdoing when when there is no confession of guilt… There is a voice from the cross that echoes across history to all saying ‘Father forgive them for they know not what they do.’ Neither Pilate nor the high priest nor the centurion offered any apology to Jesus, yet he prayed for divine forgiveness…(p.125)”
+
I think it is a helpful tool for people to insist on seeing some sort of repentance and restitution from someone who wrongs you before you trust them again. If they are not even sorry for what they’ve done, and they refuse to explain why what they did is wrong, then they can’t be forgiven, and you can’t trust them again.
+
When I raise that with the unconditional forgiveness crowd, they want to insist that there is a difference, that the word “forgive” means different things. I’m not convinced.
pure and light (madelineranda.wordpress.com)
I let the enemy convince me my sins are trivial and he lulls me into complacency. he whispers that I’m fine and dandy, that we all live in darkness together and that is a-okay. But this morning as light flooded through my window, over a warm cup of coffee, my lonely and impure heart was brought a beautiful reminder speaking to both lies.
Sunlight slits open the dark clouds, Crushing down my sins and bondage alike. With Him we too were crucified that day – Not as mere slaves or rebels but as Sons.
Forgiveness like a Balm to to my bruises, My heart and soul now rejuvenated – Speak – “Let the inner voice choose – Forgiveness over vengeance !”
Harsh neighbors unite, Arch rivals dialogue, Nations come together – As citizens of Humankind.
Judge Not ,nor be judged. Condemn Not,nor be condemned, But forgive and be Forgiven, For Love is the only Balm for my pains.

Bible prophecies do not deal only with the ancient past. They also accurately foretell events that are taking place in our day. But at the moment we focus at numerous prophecies preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures (commonly called the Old Testament) which long before the man was born told about events which would happen in his time and around him, his betrayal, humiliation, torture, execution, death, and burial. From those writings of the Old and New Testament nobody should have doubts who that man is who is called Immanuel, the son of man and Messiah, born out of the root of Jess in the tribe of king David.
In Scripture, all things are directed towards a man who was a servant of servants, in whom people should come to have faith. First we saw the connection with Eve and her seed, and in this article you may see the connection with Abraham.
Already in the Old Testament we find the focus on a son of man who is called the son of God, who shall be the most pure set apart (holy) servant of God who was been told about in the Garden of Eden, to be the one bruised.
Many Old Testament writers wrote about the prophet to come, about whom is spoke in the book of Moses and who shall be the special “Seed of a woman” given by God and who will bruise Satan’s head whilst his heel would be bruised with nails on the wooden stake.

Als afsluiting van het modelgebed Het Onze Vader kunnen wij nog eens benadrukken hoe wij Gods Naam, Heerlijkheid of Glorie, Macht en Kracht hoogschatten.
First of all to come to a good relationship with some one, one has to talk with that person and has to listen to what that person has to tell. God talks to the people by the way of His Word, presented to mankind by the many Bible translations, so that most people can read […]
The One Who created everything and Who gave His Word, did all He did with a purpose and out of love. The Bible teaches us that “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) Everything God does is motivated by love. Out of love created man in His image also with the intention to have a good relationship […]
In the previous writings we saw that the Divine Creator gave His Word to the world so that people could come to know Him. The Bible is a gift from God. It gives us information that we can’t find anywhere else. For example, it tells us that God created the heavens, the earth, and the […]
Menahem Schmelzer, a Hungarian refugee who for more than two decades was the doting custodian of one of the world’s greatest collections of ancient Hebrew and other Jewish manuscripts and books as the librarian of the Jewish Theological Seminary, died on Dec. 10 at his home in Manhattan. He was 88. During Professor Schmelzer’s tenure […]
Right now, we are in a time of seeking, and there is good reason to yearn for the Qadosh Barukh Hu, El ʿElyon, thirsting for Jehovah the living God, to find our way through the darkness. Those who have tasted the Bore and got that personal relationship with Him, have found that nothing else can satisfy their souls but Him.
In the north of Europe shelling brings a lot of darkness, but these days our brethren and sisters from Ukraine, with us are all united in the commemoration of another war won by the grace of the El’ Elyon.
As we gain new experiences and learn every day so does the confrontation of reading the Torah every year again from beginning to end, which makes us discover each time some new things, making us grow in our Bible knowledge.
Originally posted on Jewish Young Professional: I put “Assimilated Jew” in the title of this series because “Authentic Self and the Assimilated Jew” had a nice aesthetically-pleasing alliteration to it. But honestly, I don’t self-identify as a secular Jew or as an assimilated Jew. Secular? I don’t consider myself secular because in spite of my…

We always should remember that Shabbat is not just about not doing certain things, or the other way round, just doing special things, or having special food or bringing sacrifices.

The apostle Paul wrote about the dispersion, the dispersed House of Israel. They had been “without covenant“, but Paul was sent out to recover them. So they were “grafted in again“ (Romans 11/23). Or, Grafted back in“. If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been […]
Rob Mac wonders when the door to door will return? He wrote this a while back, and went sharing it again. Many Jehovah’s Witnesses hate the door to door ministry, although they won’t readily admit it. Many Jehovah’s Witnesses have developed ‘creative’ ways of counting their time doing this work, and many strategies for avoiding actually […]
Constantine wanted unity in his realm, and his call in 325 C.E. for a council of his bishops at Nicaea, located in the Eastern, Greek-speaking domain of his empire, across the Bosporus from the new city of Constantinople was in a certain way his goal to achieve some agreement by which many could live. Constantine […]
Superstition, misunderstanding and hatred caused the Christians trouble for many generations, and governmental repression they had to suffer occasionally, as a result of popular disturbances. No systematic effort was made by the imperial authorities to put an end to the movement until the reign of the Roman emperor (249–251) who fought the Gothic invasion of […]
Self-enhancing When the apostles had died there came a time when those in charge of teaching and going around telling about the gospel, started coming to see themselves as special people. Some even started to consider themselves as ‘clergy of the highest order’. After a time the organisation of the church was given only to […]

Does one need proof to come to a certain belief? We can look at the signs in nature and find out what happened to certain people in the past, such as Noah and Paul. With the Book of Books, Allah has provided the world with His Interpretative Word.
