Active hope

Many people feel worried about the future and believe things are getting worse in the world right now.
We cannot argue that there are many things today that we may or even should be concerned about.
The good news is that acknowledging these concerns is actually the first step to finding positive ways forward.

Since last Saturday, Marcus Ampe has given speeches in the Belgian ecclesiae of the Christadelphians, which will continue for a few weeks, about the circumstances from which we can leave, by going on a spiritual trek or pilgrimage together.

A new ecclesia has been founded in Anderlecht and to build an ecclesia it is, as it were, for members or visitors to go on a pilgrimage. To take part in such a trek one must be well prepared and bring the right luggage, all the ballast must be omitted.

Life offers many challenges that might come like overwhelming storms. Every day we are confronted with something that may bother us. Sometimes we have to face obstacles like crashing waves breaking over us. For many, their self-doubt and insecurities seem always to be their shadow. Preacher Marcus Ampe suggests stepping out of that shadow. He advises us to take a boat to calmer waters. At the same time, he warns us that we must be aware of the realities of life and death that may leave their mark. There will always be rocks below the surface of the water that we can run into.

With his words of advice and guidance to go on the path to a better life, he spreads hope for a better life in a better future. To some, it seems like we’re stuck with all the annoyances of this life. But Mr. Ampe is convinced that we can get rid of those annoying things in this world. By making the right choice, we can go out to a promised better world. However, for this, we must deliberately go in a certain direction, which many see as idiotic. But we should not care much about that, we should go straight ahead. And to this end we have an excellent guide, which also tells about a people who went straight through the opened Reed Sea, to be freed from slavery by the Egyptians.

Our modern passage through the ‘virtual Reed Sea’ – Red Sea -, is one we must go through together. United, we are also much stronger and can brave the fiercest storms. United we can also pull through the walls of water. If our faith is strong enough, the walls will stand.

Those who are weaker in faith must be drawn along by the stronger, and so we will be able to move on.

Brother Marcus also believes that we should not hide from the outside world and even less ‘we shouldn’t care about that world’. We must be very aware of what is going wrong and must also address others about it. We must be aware of the task that God has given man, namely to care for nature. Attracting us from nothing is an easy solution, but according to Brother Marcus it is not the right way. We must stand up for the weak, it can be said for the weak people, but also for the animals and plants whose voices are not heard by many and do not have their rights respected.

This world of injustice, much pain and poverty, full of desolation, cannot and will not remain. Those who believe in God and accept His Promises as true, are convinced that after the greatest coming horror, the Third World War will be the last. Not that there will then be a complete destruction of the earth. But when the End of Time comes, Jesus Christ will return to judge the living and the dead. After many millennia, the many expectations and searches will finally come to an end.

That in prospect and bearing in mind, is there enough nutrient to nourish our hopes and keep them active.

Most people try to earn as much money as the can. They have put their hope on financial wealth. But that shall have no value in the end. Nobody shall be able to do something with it in the grave.

One is better to feed oneself with the more important spiritual bread. The Voice of God to guide to a much better life.

Believe me! Everything is Possible

Once on our way in life we are confronted with lots of things, of which some seem difficult to tackle or which are disturbing us.

All of us search for the better life and have their goal put on marvellous things we dream of. Many people think a good life and happiness lies in gathering wealth, but they are mistaken.
Many think they have to look for luck by others around them and think the world can offer them peace within. They do hope to achieve great success, and some even can do so but in the end do not feel very happy. Several who seem to have reached the top within themself do not feel really satisfied or fulfilled despite becoming a multi-millionaire or a star. Oh, so many go looking for luck and happiness too far away out.

Too many people do forget that answers should be found within themself, becoming self-aware and having the right spiritual goal.

It might not always easy to accept we failed in something. But we should come to understand we better learn from any failure and go on avoiding it in the future by not falling in the same trap or by not choosing the wrong direction.

Lots of people do not want to know they are created in the image of their Maker. The majority of the world population even does not want to accept such Eternal Spirit Being would exist. But if they would learn more about Him and read His Words, they would be able to find the most valuable Guide for life (in His given Word: the Bible). That century assembly of books gives enough wisdom to mankind to find the best way to live and shows the path to true happiness.

To remember

  • Failure =/= failure < > brings a lot of experience + maturity in our brain and mind set = > a way towards success.
  • willpower matters a lot
  • believe in yourself + never give up > you “can do it”.
  • Think Positive
  • Trust in Hard Work
  • Set your goal > set a milestone for yourself.  Every target and milestone has some requirements = think, find the story, model them, and then try to better them
  • empower your will power with greatness you have achieved in your life.

Shades of Life

There are many different shades of life presented by the many experiences and influences brought into our surroundings.

We have one great expectation to grow in our life and to make it better all the time, looking forward to perhaps an unreachable dream. Those who believe in the Divine Creator know that life is fare-most the greatest gift and that life is sealed by the Grace of salvation making us able to live by a still greater expectation of a better world to come. With that hope by the Grace of Salvation we can nurture our personal choice to opt the option of living and enjoy every moment we receive from the Creator. For that life we should be thankful for each blessing in our present life and the other life still to come and hoped for.

In our life where may be the shadow of all those experiences and special moments of life?  The memories which can build up our life and make our book of life a great story-book to accompany us on paths still unknown.
We may not be any more the one we were when we were a child. All those experience , which we liked and did not like, have moulded us in an other child. The innocence of our childhood is gone. But by the years we become softer and perhaps less experimenting, putting much more in perspective.   When older the empty days can be filled with memories.

Life may be going on for no reason, but we can give a lot of reason to our life, and that is what we should do.

As always God has a Plan

We should know in life the things that come around us can tackle us. Life at certain moments can look just plain hard! Life at certain moments may even look unfair.

Whatever we dream of, it does not always want to turn out like our aspirations and often we do seem to miss the goal.

https://i0.wp.com/loreejohns.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/fullsizeoutput_5b6f.jpeg

There are those who know God and dare to argue with Him, because they do not understand His Ways, nor why such horrible things can happen in this world and such bad things happen to them who love God.

How many of us would not like like Gideon a proof from God, Him shoulder tapping us.

You would think an angel would be evidence enough. It’s not like seeing angels were common occurrences. {How to Be All In When Asked to do Hard Things}

Whatever happens in our life, whatever directions we do have to go, we always should remember that we are just little elements in the creation of God. We also should remember that when we are wiling to give ourselves in His Hands, Jehovah God shall be willing to help us. He already showed many times to be there for His people. At all times, even when they were not so honest to God or when they had forgotten Him, He always was prepared to come close to them when they were calling Him, or even when they were not thinking of Him, to remind them of Him or to send them a prophet or messenger.

People had asked God several times for certain things, like food but also kings and judges, and He gave it them.

Gideon-judge.jpg

Gideon from Promptuarii Iconum Insigniorum

Gideon seemed a shaky kind of guy for a judge. I always assumed these God-chosen Judges would be natural leaders of the super-hero type. Like Samson, a not so ordinary guy with a hot temper, and Hulk-type strength. Or Deborah the wonder woman whose wisdom was legendary, and to whom men submitted. {How to Be All In When Asked to do Hard Things}

Deborah-judge.png

Deborah as portrayed in Promptuarii Iconum Insigniorum (1553)

For us human beings we would like to have an easy comfortable life without any problems. Be sure, that shall be possible … but we shall have to work for it …

God never promised me comfort and ease on this earth. He never promised an immunity to change. {How to Be All In When Asked to do Hard Things}

We should remember it was mankind itself which reposted against God. Man did not think God was honest to them and kept something precious behind. In their rebellion they ate from the forbidden fruit to get to know “Knowledge of good and evil” and as such came to know that evil. And that is what we have to feel more than once in our life. The bad things surround us. But we must not always think when there is something we do not like, like having to move places or to go on, that it means that would be bad. It can be a next step in our life which can bring us so much more goodness. Therefore we, when in doubt sometimes do good to switch our prayer like interior designer Loree Johns the wife of preacher Randy does

Ok, Ok, I get it. You are opening the floodgates to a new opportunity, new souls to love and nurture. So help me to find peace about this, because like Gideon, I needed proof you really want to uproot and upend me. {How to Be All In When Asked to do Hard Things}

Asking Jehovah God for guidance and comfort He shall show the way and make sure the proofs of His nearness and His Plan shall become clearer. Coming to trust in Him and hoping to fit in His Way your anxiety shall ease.

The sick feeling abated. And I could feel excitement for a new chapter warring with my pain of leaving those I love. I could do this. So, I met with my other designer and staff, and we figured a way for me to work in OKC half of the time. I’m thankful for such a great team who will keep the business thriving when I am three hours away. {How to Be All In When Asked to do Hard Things}

°°°

God in his infinite wisdom only reveals what we need to know in the here and now.

It seems like God’s plans are rarely our plans, at least not in my world.

As always God has a Plan.

It’s time for that wall to come down once for all, and for me to be real with you. I will share my joys along with my pain and sorrows. I will give you insight into what helps me kept it all together on the rocky road of a broken world. I will open my heart and soul to you so we can complete this hard journey on earth together.
****************************
What I have found on my journey so far:

-God is the only place I can find true Peace.

-He says “BE STILL AND KNOW I AM GOD,” for people like me who have a hard time sitting.

–Joy is a choice.

-His amazing Grace releases me from my mess and allows me to walk forever free.

–He loves me fierce and reckless.

Being alive and living life don’t always go hand in hand

Lots of people are not concerned about the Hashem in their life and live a life where they try to get enough material gain. They totally have forgotten or do not want to know Who is behind their life.

Today there are also many people who do not want to do too much. They are not much interested in the work they do, to gain their living and think it is just okay to have a job and use what ever they can use for their own profit, not matter at what cost for the employer. They use the boss his paid for work time to check their social media and to browse the net, looking for things for their own entertainment or for fun.

living hand to paw

living hand to paw (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Those who want to do their work seriously are mocked at or even bullied by others at work. We should know even when we do not see the profit in these days of our honest work, the Elohim shall His Hand be upon the Ish Yeminecha (the man of His right hand), and upon the Ben Adam or son of man whom He has strengthened for Himself. Those not departing from the Elohim shall be revived by Him whilst we shall call upon His Sacred Name.

It is very easy to go with all those who like to make use of the time paid by their boss and to go with those who are not ashamed to be lazy. Looking around us we can try to show others we want to be under God‘s guidance and living according His Mitzvot.

We do know we have our physical body with its life which is not always like we want it. We, living in this world, do not want to be off it, but want to be living in the world God wants to see. Every day we should work at our spiritual life. Building it up.

So are we asking God not just to give us life biologically, but also spiritually?

To imbue us with an attitude of liveliness?

I hope that’s what we’re each given, and that we can embrace the gift of each day.

Psalms 80:17-19 OJB (18) Let Thy Yad be upon the Ish Yeminecha (the Man of your Right Hand), upon the Ben Adam whom Thou madest strong for Thyself [cf Psalm 110:1; Dan 7:13]. (18) (19) So will we never turn back from Thee; revive us, and we will call upon Thy Shem. (19) (20) Turn us again, Hashem Elohim Tzva’os; cause Thy face to shine that we may be saved.

Spring playing hide and seek

Bold Jumping SpiderPhotographer Mike Powell knows that spring has truly arrived when he starts to walk around with a macro lens on his camera. You may find some nice shots of a Bold Jumping Spider (Phidippus audax) on the boardwalk the 4th of April at Huntley Meadows Park in his article Jumping spider in early April.

Northern ShovelerWith new vegetation springing up near the edges of the ponds at Huntley Meadows Park, some of the ducks are now hanging out within range of his camera rather than in the middle of the pond. This past weekend he was able to capture the unusual beauty of this male Northern Shoveler (Anas clypeata). (See: Unusual beauty)

In Belgium the temperatures are still low for the time of year and the sun does not seem to be able to get through the clouds. Hyacinths may stand droopy, but the hortensia (or hydrangea) coloured green in just three days, as soon as we got, at last, some higher temperature. For some kids and adults again a time to play ducks and drakes (throwing flat stones so that they skim along the surface of water)

Belted Kingfisher

Female Belted Kingfisher (Megaceryle alcyon) at Mike Powell’s favourite marshland park.

At moments we can see the Great Blue Herons hover over the bare fields, him not having to fear that a Belted Kingfisher would catch our attention, him sitting on a throne of a piece of wood, overlooking everything as a king. (See: Old faithful & Look both ways)

After the terrorist attacks the people living in Belgium are not at all afraid to get some fresh air and to go places. They find lesser tourists on their track. Many of those who had planned their vacation cancelled the trip to France and Belgium, but those who were already underway enjoy the less busy squares and enjoy very much their stay in this small country.

Every season heralds the might and mystery of superior designs emergent on earth and it is up to people to see the beauty of it all or to adapt to them as needed, respecting their place in the botanical, animal and mineral kingdoms, and our place in theirs.

For lovers of God once more every season is a whirlwind of proofs of the Hand behind this wonderful world. By all the changes taking place around us we can see how wonderfully made this nature world is and how it is impossible for man to create himself such a marvellous world.

In certain countries ‘Spring Break’ and ‘Holy Week’ coincided. In Belgium people do have their Easter holiday. Being a so called Catholic country there was the time to reflect with ‘Holy Week’, but where most went to look for sun and warmthin an other country or went on to the traditional Belgian coast Easter holiday.

Having had the pagan Easter Sunday with kids looking for eggs, others went to have a walk in parks.

Sue, a Presbyterian who lives in Missouri, the California girl Lori, living in Kansas and Ruth, living in New Jersey, having no particular religious affiliation, also look at Spring and write

In this part of Missouri, spring is making an appearance.  The land is still a little grim looking, all grey and brown, but there are also signs of growth, signs of hope. {Easter: Making Time for God}

SueBE recognises that it is easier when she is alone and when she has some time to both wander and wonder. she writes

I know, I know. It means I missed time that could have been spent in group worship.  And we missed a dinner.  But I also got to connect with God and having done that I can say it was truly worth it. His message?

Breathe. Just take a moment, stand still, and breathe.

It isn’t a message I would have received in worship or with family but it was definitely a message that I needed to hear.

We can spend time in group worship, but than we also should wonder if we are worshipping the right God and not a human concoction of a three-headed god. Though we do know that also in such groups or churches people can connect with God. there they should come to listen to Him and should follow His Wishes. Often for many living in this materialistic world that is very difficult. Most people prefer to keep to the human traditions, like Easter and Easter bunnies, Christmas and Christmas trees, instead of keeping to the by god given holidays like 14 Nisan or Pesach.

Belgian traditions are full of pagan rituals. All our culture is interwoven with Celtic and Germanic traditions, people having those gods interposed on their Catholic gods and religious figures.

Those looking for God shall have the difficulty to step aside and to leave those human traditions for what they are and abandoning those human teachings which have made integral part of the West European culture for centuries. Not only the Roman Catholic Church made use of those old customs. For man it is not always easy to finish such habits or to come to see that those are not laudable customs but are abominations in the eyes of God.

As Spring is a time of refreshment it is also an ideal time to start a fresh. It is a time to begin a new life, like nature also brings new life in view.

A God called Love, full of Grace and Mercy, tenderly loving us, is looking at this world and hoping His children will come back to Him. He is calling the, every moment of the day and night.

Now the darker days diminish we should come to see more of the beauties God has given this world and should take time to renew our sense of purpose by building the house of our life on the foundation of God’s Word.  {Life with a Purpose}

There are so many things that can affect the flow of God’s word and presence into our lives. Like deep sea divers, we must continually remind ourselves that nothing—nothing—is as important as that life-giving flow. {Pray as if Your Life Depends on It!}

writes Mitch Teemley in one of his ‘Stories with a Message.’

the Belted Kingfisher is a large, conspicuous ...

the Belted Kingfisher is a large, conspicuous and noisy kingfisher, the only member of that group commonly found in the northern United States and Canada. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

But to have God being able to work at you, you shall have to open up yourself and be willing to listen to His Words. We ourselves have to decide if we shall stay connected with this world, being of this world, or wanting to belong to God, being of His world.

Lots of name Christians who as a child had some religious activities have become ‘dried up’. Frustrated with the dryness in their spiritual life they do not know which way to turn. Instead of daring to take a step back and to explore again the magic of this world around them, seeing the Creator His acts in it. when they would go up a mountain or do some long walk and give their mind to nature, they will be surprised to hear something and to feel something special in them. That are the moments we can come close to God, and of which we should take use.

Such photographers like Mike Powell, Cindy Dydyer, Cindy Barton Knoke, and sites like Purple Rays are there on the net to bring beauty for beauty and show those things which are so much greater than a human being, and are the ‘given presence’ of the Greatest Designer of all universe.

If you are limited by the limitations or boundaries of your body, the chains in this life, such writers on the net make it possible to go all over the world and see the beauty of this world. When you are bounded to a wheelchair or not able to move far places, do enjoy their pictures and let you be taken away on a magic journey. Let the pain disappear by enjoying the beautiful pictures and please do take time to let your mind hover over thoughts which can bring you closer to That Maker of everything.

Taking His Book of books shall ad wisdom to it all and bring you to see who is who and what you shall have to believe and how you too can look forward to a much better life than this one you might have in this system of things, this time of this world.

Even if we can not be sure about the seasons, you should know that God is not hiding so that He can not be found. He is there … to be found by you.
