A Glory followed by Despair

  • The Identity of a Girl (lifeunhindered.com)
But hiding her feelings, instead of surrendering them to her father, ruins the glory that he did make her for. They pollute everything she does with lies and soon she can’t live or look out into the world or at herself except through the lenses of these lies, fears, and shame. Since all she sees are these lies she starts to live in a way that reflects them and soon her life begins to represent what she’s the most afraid of being true. They wouldn’t be true, of course, if she were willing give up the lies and surrender them over to her father to judge honestly and righteously. But her fear of having those lies confirmed as true by her father keep her enslaved to them. And because they hurt her deeply all she can do is see life through her pain
  • The Demons of Denial and Despair (cerkas.wordpress.com)
Arguably, Denial and Despair are the epitome of darkness.  When light evades our thoughts and appears light-years away, denial and despair swoop in to conquer our souls, control our minds and forever shroud our lives in the absence of light; for that is precisely what darkness is defined as, the absence of light. However, as physics dictates in our physical world, for every Action there is an Equal and Opposite Reaction .  This most appropriately applies to Life & Death, Good & Evil, Denial & Acceptance, Despair & Hope.
  • The Sixth Petition of The Lord, Prayer (gospelofbarney.wordpress.com)
God tempts no one. We pray in this petition that God would guard and keep us so that the devil, the world, and our sinful nature may not deceive us or mislead us into false belief, despair, and other great shame and vice. Although we are attacked by these things, we pray that we may finally overcome them and win the victory.
  • The Space Between (goddessarriving.com)
Whether you are a Christian or not, whether you believe in the resurrection of Jesus or not….I ask you to stop and consider how this video  (by the young talent at Amina) about Holy Saturday touches on that “space between.” The space between sadness and joy, failure and accomplishment. It’s that muddy place where people tend to drift for long periods of time waiting for their lives to change; that place of hopelessness which eventually leads to despair.
  • Prayer: Sets of Tens (rosevoc2.wordpress.com)
Praying is an act of humility and faith.  It warms the soul, heals the heart and calms the body. As the Holy Spirit comes, during prayer, you will feel a centered concentration, pureness and joy in the heart.  For a while, you are lost in a mode of bliss and acceptance of all things mortal, or you see through
  • The X Factor (brandoneskew.wordpress.com)
The world says that after everything that is going on, I should start compromising, that the complacency should sit in at any moment. However, that’s not whats happening. I feel the fire burning brighter, I see the hunger increased, and I see the determination to help a dying and cold world grow exponentially. I see a desperate young man scratching and crawling to escape his falling into dark circumstances. I see the opportunity to give up and quit becoming easier and easier. I see the world trying to bury my flame. However, the response is quick to say “go ahead, fire away.”
  • Liturgy (6/1) (immanuelblog.wordpress.com)

We have lived for our own glory and not yours alone.

We have worshipped other gods: money, power, greed, and convenience.

We have served our own self-interest

instead of serving only you and your people.

We have not loved our neighbors as you have commanded.

Where I thought I wouldn’t achieve it
I did
Where I thought I wouldn’t cry
I did
Where we all thought we wouldn’t stand up for each other
We did

A glory followed by despair
A glory that I won
Yet the despair that came out of nowhere

When you feel like everything you do is wrong
Where you feel like you should do one sacrifice
Where it all ends, where we all are sad
When comfort isn’t enough for those in despair

Forgive me my friends
But your journey is still far ahead
Forgive me my friends
I may disappoint all of you
Forgive me my friends
For coming in with victory while leaving you all alone in deep sadness

Do not say congratulations to me
I am congratulating you
For all we went through,
I have to admit it was tough
But you were tougher to face it
