Seeking God not for selfish ends

They That Seek The Lord Shall Not Want (Psa. 34:10)

WE are not to seek God for selfish ends, but in the self-effacing power of divine love. But the glorious paradox is that the more we selflessly seek God’s pleasure and glory, and the less we seek our own, the more inevitably and inexorably will pleasure and glory pursue us, and force themselves upon us.

A stupid way, a simple thing

2 kings 5:10-11 and Matthew 9:20-21 questioning

How would you feel when you realize that after the struggles and troubles you went through in getting a solution, all you needed to do was just a simple thing.

Today the eyes of servants may look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress, but how many are willing to look at the Greatest Master of all masters, the Only One God Host of hosts?

We may question whose eyes are willing to wait

upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us

No faith aggravated issues and facing so many life difficulties with worried thoughts, even encountering at moments issues that look unsolvable, giving us sleepless nights towards hopeless solutions, so many people are affected by heavy weights with immense burdens. {(Look up)}

Our guestwriter of today may be opening up the curtain, seeing that it’s already morning and thanking God we aren’t mourning. He, like many may be

Going on a journey of faith, lost in the middle

and coming to the conclusion that his feeling was gone

my emotions were washed away, but I can’t help but notice that through my fears I see Hope, Hope am not left alone

Lots of people spend so much money and time on worldly goods, stumbling many times, before they come to realise there is only one solution for our problems. Our divine Creator has given the solution for each of us. We only have to accept it.

Our guestwriter reminds us of the story in the bible about a woman with an issue of blood for twelve years. Let us remember that though she lost a whole lot because of this disease, she didn’t lose hope. She must have heard many stories about the master teacher Jeshua. It might have been a very curious man, but she believed in her heart and was convinced if she only could touch the helm of the garment of Jesus she would be made whole.

It is by that son of God we can come closer to a better relationship with his heavenly Father the Only One True God. by knowing that Jesus is the way to God, we do not have to have sleepless nights or have to feel like a bereaved  sparrow alone on the housetop. with the knowledge that god has sent us His only begotten son, we can count on him. He restored the relationship between God and man and is our mediator the Most High Who is enthroned forever and Whose fame of  His Name endures to all generations. He

will arise and have mercy and loving kindness for Zion, for it is time to have pity and compassion for her, yes, the set time has come. Psalm 102 {Morning Coffee: A Prayer of the Afflicted}

KENIWRITE

2kings 5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

2kings 5:11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Let me start with a question. How would you feel when you realize that after the struggles and troubles you went through in getting a solution, all you needed to do was just…

Hide and Seek ~

Deborah Ann Belka was born into the family of God when she was eleven years old and has rededicated her life almost every day since. She believes her walk with the Lord, is step-by-step, hour-by-hour, and sometimes minute-by-minute.

God wants us to find Him => we should seek Him with all our heart and with all our soul.

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

Hide and Seek ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

God has something.
He wants me to find . . .
so I’ll be seeking Him
with all my heart and mind.

I’ll diligently be pursing,
what He has for me
though at this very moment
it’s not too clear to see.

It’s as if I am playing,
with Him hide and seek
so I’ll  search my Bible
until to me He speaks.

As I look for Him,
throughout His Word
all kinds of revelations
in my spirit are stirred.

Oh, the things,
God has for me to find
when I seek Him with . . .
all my heart, soul and mind!

Deuteronomy 4:29

“But if from thence thou shalt
seek the Lord thy God,
thou shalt find him,
if thou seek him with
all thy heart and
with all thy soul.”

Echo

Some might think God is blind or are deaf to His calling and to His answers, often because they prefer keeping stuck with human dogmatic teachings, like the trinity, or because they still do not want to give themselves in the Hands of the Divine Maker.

We are often so afraid of what would happen if we let ourselves go, giving our inner self into the hands of the One Who we cannot see. Also we are so much afraid of facing ourself, having to be confronted with our mirror image. Who likes the naughty bits of himself? Who wants to be confronted with that which is not so good about himself?

We often want to criticise others but do not like to receive criticism ourselves, and to criticise ourselves is even more difficult.

When we dare to look through the clouds and fog we shall see the light that can bring us further on the path of a richer life. Behind all darkness is the God of light and clarity. Lets look for Him Who gives life.

Sinking lies or rising truth…Visual Echo, Mirror

I breathe on it and my life spread a foggy spell enough to blur all harshness and sharp definitions. Do I exist without reflection, thoughts and images are one in the mercury cloud?

Others see me like that?

Weapon of deceit, fear, mirrors can hide you better than an invisibility cloak. But you know.

Gateway, witness, charm, spell, light and darkness, whether whole or broken it is who you are for the others, it is who you are in the present it gives back what it receives.

I don’t see your reflection now I only see you. The mirror turned into water or sky, your hand approaches the water wall.

Crossing is accessible.

When looking for God or wanting to relate to the Most High Divine God

For those who want to look for God, want to find the way to God and want to connect to Him when they found Him, there are two new English and three Dutch websites to help them on their road to a peaceful life full op hope.

On March the 9th of the year 2016 the small community of God loving people in Belgium, united under the Cornerstone Christ Jesus, presented “Relating to God” on a Weebly site and “Relating to God – Blog” on WordPress.

Relating to God Blog WP 20160310 Blog

Openings article for the WordPress Blog “Relating to God” on March 9, 2016

Both sites could be considered siblings. together they form one unit, offering people all over the world the possibility to find more about our relationship with our surroundings (nature and people around us) and with the Source of all the things around us (the Divine Creator).

We also want to show people the Way to God, the Nazarene Jeshua who managed to put his own will aside to do the Will of God. Like him we should try to put our own will aside and to make us strong enough to leave the human traditions and human dogma’s for what they are preferring to stick to Biblical dogma’s, set-apart teachings of men of God, listening to the sacred Words of God Himself.

We do hope several people may come along and find some interesting material which can help them on their quest to God or to find assurance to be on the right track. Together we should help each other to find comfort in Biblical teaching and support each other in the preaching of the Good News of the coming Kingdom of God.

In Dutch similar content is presented in a triptych. Each individual website concentrating on one subject: 1. Looking for God: Op zoek naar God; 2. the Way to God: De Weg naar God; 3. Finding God: God vinden.

Op zoek naar God - Homepage 20160214 De Weg naar God - Homepage 20160218 God vinden - Homepage 20160213

We kindly invite you to come along, visiting those sites and perhaps leaving some note behind or subscribing to some of them.

Yours truly,

Relating to God

Searching or overlooking God’s presence

“To overlook God’s presence is not simply to be irreligious; it is a kind of insanity, like overlooking anything else that is actually there. . . . God is not only a fact of religion: he is a fact. Not to see him is to be wrong about everything, which includes being wrong about one’s self.”

Frank Sheed ( Karl Keating, Is Bill Gates Insane?, Catholic Answers)

“Openly appearing to those who look for Him with all their heart, while hiding from those who run from Him with all their heart, God governs human knowledge of His presence. He gives signs that are visible to those who search for Him, and yet invisible to those who are indifferent to Him. To those who wish to see, God gives sufficient light; to those who do not wish to see, He gives sufficient darkness.”

God plays hide-n-seek?

Supermarkets full of tempting things, which never can sooth our minds to satisfy us fully.

So many people in the world looking for luck, food feeling, trying all sorts of techniques , spending lots of money for wellness and fitness clubs. They all seem to forget that the key to spiritual health and happiness lies in their own heart.
Created in the image of the Creator most lost the connection with their Maker. In case they could find this connection it would be so much easier for them to live in this world.

New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures in various languages and versions (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Luckily the little stones left in the world to find the ground-stone or foundation is close to find in the Book of books. Those ancient scrolls are now able to find in nearly all countries in many translations so that every one is able to find a translation in a language he or she can understand.

The only thing the searching person further needs is the opening of the eyes and willingness to see, making time to read and to think about the Words of God written down in the Holy Scriptures.

Those who found the light should now give the little flame over to others so that they too can find that Great Light. and more people shall be able to find the God of gods, the Elohim Hashem Jehovah.

For sure, do know god is not hiding Himself, He is there for everybody to find Him, and has provided enough means to find Him.

Seedlings for the Spirit

Seedling:  You created me in order to find You… ~St. Augustine

Why do children play hide and seek, if not for the sheer joy of finding and being found.

God has provided this world – a world that incessantly declares Him and perpetually reveals Him. Why? Because He wants the sheer joy of being found by you.

Obviously, we can’t find Him if we don’t slow down enough to notice or listen. But there are others factors. Perhaps He does not allow you to see Him because He wants you to learn to listen. Perhaps He does not allow you to hear Him because He wants you to learn to see. Or maybe He is developing your ability to reason or your capacity to perceive.

If He is hidden, it is only like the Purloined Letter of Sherlock Holmes – that is, hidden in plain sight. Be patient and persevering…

Looking for Answers

Made in the image of God, we all have been implanted with the gene of looking for God. He, though humankind does not want to know of Him and rebelled/rebels against His Power is till prepared to come closer to those who are willing to find answers to their many questions. God already provided lots of answers to human’s questions. But not many do want to find those answers in the very old books. God’s Voice is still resounding all over the earth and many people are trying to bring others to God, but each individual has to make the own choice to prepare himself to hear and to listen to That Supreme Voice.
Let us find that Voice of God in the Book of books, not as such in the writings of human beings, being it philosophical or so called theologian works. Let us go back to the Word of God He gave us with the Bible and take the words in it for what they are, not twisting them with human dogma‘s.

+

To remember:

  • “Everybody’s looking for answers!” = mantra in journey.
  • Everybody’s looking for answers
  • we’d like to understand more than we do = part of human nature.
  • son of man = reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being
  • God spoke in the past & God speaks now
  • Son has delivered ultimate answer of our salvation

If God created you in His image this means you have the attributes of God. And the attributes of God includes power of imagination, creativity, innovation, deep thinking, excellence and ingenuity.
  • Listen…. (thelivingmessage.com)
Many people don’t want to hear someone preaching from the Word because it is God’s Truth. Some don’t think that it is true or that it is God’s Word, they think that the Bible is just a book of stuff, stories made up by some bunch of old guys which tell a little about historical figures and some of them are good stories but that is it, nothing more. Have you ever really listened to it, really sat down and read it? The Bible is about much more than Jewish history and the kings which ruled Israel, it is a condensed history of the world itself, from the viewpoint of God’s chosen people.

  • Holy Spirit: The Presence of God (charleefelice.com)
The Holy Spirit resides in each of us that believe that Jesus died for our sins, that He is our redeemer. It guides us, makes us conscious of our words and actions, convicts us when we sin, and grants us peace when we do right by Him, by others, and by our own selves.

Where the words in the bible will point you to God, and help you know about God and Jesus, the Holy Spirit within you will help you know God and Jesus. The words have no power, only direction. The power to make the words real in your life comes from the Holy Spirit, within you.

Would humankind be restored? The question of restoration is left open. What next, we might ask? God must step in to provide a way for sin-tainted human beings to come back to him. He starts his plan of restoration by choosing a man, Abram, and his wife, Sarai, through whom he will build a family and ultimately a nation.
  • In the Beginning… (herose4grace.wordpress.com)
the Bible is Old.  It is an act of communication, written for us but not “to” us.  It is pre-science, pre Darwin, pre astro physics, pre, pretty much anything in our knowledge and perspective of the world today.  It is written for a culture that is thousands of years away from us in not only time, but culture.  Too often, we correspond the Bible to our way of thinking. Christians and atheists alike tend to their own world view or ego.  In order to truly grasp the words of this work, you have to step outside of our minds, our entire style and influence of thinking; discard science as we know it, culture as we know it, and meld into an ancient civilization that is overrun with beliefs and day to day encounters more foreign to us than stepping off of our planet and into a civilization of aliens on the other side of the universe.  In this time, the world was the product of a violent gnashing of gods; disorder and chaos at its core.  It was a world saturated in violent and destructive means.

One of my favorite movies in recent years is “O Brother, Where Art Thou”, and adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey, set in rural depression era South. In fact, it’s led me to re-read “The Odyssey” and enter once again into this classic tale. The main character in the movie is one of three escaped convicts, who travel back to his home in search of treasure.

As in Homer’s epic, these characters have a host of lively encounters and danger filled adventures throughout their travels. The main character, (taking the role of Odysseus) says repeatedly throughout the quest, “Everybody’s looking for answers!” The phrase becomes quite the mantra in the journey.

Everybody’s looking for answers…in some way or fashion. The zaniness of this movie reminded me of that simple fact; we don’t know everything, and we’d like to understand more than we do. It is part of human nature.

sinking world….

So many people may feel betrayed by this life, or by the life their parents presented them. We can find many people who have been wounded by the people around them and by the traps they fell into.

.

Many have lost hope in the One Whom they call From Above. But they forget He is and always shall be with them. But He knows, because humankind doubted His right to rule, that His Light shall be able to shine in the darkness and to touch some feeble souls. Those who are willing to look for Him shall be able to find Him.
